Susan Stalk McMann wrote this to the editor of the USF Magazine: As a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, I was delighted to read the article on the history of USF's purchase of Lone Mountain, and am so glad the campus was rescued and is now an important part of USF. As a student at the Convent, I was privileged to attend a retreat there, and actually stayed in the dorms. My dream was to attend college there … we always considered ourselves a sister school to St. Ignatius and to USF, I would like to see you go a little deeper into the history and share the quality of education that the order of RSCJ contributed through the Convent and through that college, and still provides today through Convent & Stuart Hall. The women who taught me there remain the most reverenced teachers of my life, as I feel they provided me the same quality of education I would have received had I qualified at that time to receive a Jesuit education (no girls at that time). Looking forward to seeing a follow-up article in a future USF newsletter.
