NOTIFICATION OF BLASTING Granite Construction Co. Inc Folsom Dam Spillway Control Structure 1070 Folsom Lake Crossing Rd Folsom CA. 95630 (916) 294-2800

Granite Construction Co. Inc in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District respectfully notifies the general public of the intent to start blasting operations , beginning March 11, 2011 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and/or 1:30-2:30 p.m., temporary closures of Folsom Lake Crossing Road for blasting activities in support of the Joint Federal Project’s Auxiliary Spillway, constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COR) at Folsom Dam and Reservoir will take place until late fall of 2011. Temporary road closures will occur at the same time each day, Monday through Friday, throughout the spring and summer, with blasting completion in fall 2011. The temporary road closures are not scheduled during weekends or holidays. The COR and the city of Folsom have coordinated the blasting activities and temporary road closures to ensure the least possible disruption to traffic. Safety regulations require a “clear zone” during blasting. Since Folsom Lake Crossing is immediately adjacent to the site of the project, the bridge must be closed during blasting, according to Federal, State and local regulations. For vehicles, road closures will begin at 10:00 a.m. and/or 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with reopening following blasting. For pedestrians and bicyclists, road closures will begin at approximately 9:30a.m and/or 1 p.m. to ensure sufficient time for individuals to fully clear the road closure prior to blasting. Closures may be as long as 1 hour but will usually last only about 30 minutes. The contractor, Granite Construction, will post signs to notify the public of the closures and will use vehicles and other traffic control devices to block bridge entrances and redirect traffic at East Natoma Street and Folsom Auburn Road. The public should obey contractor instructions and posted signs. The warning signals for blasting are as follows,

FIVE MINUTE WARNING: ……………LONG SERIES OF WAILS (This audible will be a siren and sound for 1 minute) ONE MINUTE WARNING:……………..A SERIES OF SHORT YELPS (This audible will be a siren and sound for 1 minute) ALL CLEAR:…………………………….ONE LONG PRIORITY SIREN (This audible will be a siren and sound for 1 minute)

Please see attached map of the area of blasting and where the road closures during blasting will take place.
