High School Instructors, in Win-E-Mac, MN (northwestern Minnesota) will be trained to offer blended college level coursework in respective disciplines to students by 2015. To reach the goal, the school district will strengthen a partnership with the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC). Specifically, the initiative will:

Kim Lynch, Dean of Innovative Teaching and Learning – Anoka Ramsey Community College Many of us have dabbled in and assimilated tools offered by the Web 2.0 landscape, but did you know that the data available within web apps can be used for gain, awareness, and pride? We will explore the wealth of data at our fingertips and examine a few easy to use analytical tools for teaching and learning. From sharing documents, to reading messages, to how much time is spent on learner activities, analytics can help us increase value for students and effectiveness for teachers by providing a way to visualize behavior patterns including levels of engagement, information hubs, and disconnected students.

Provide each high school student with an iPAD or similar technology for use in their liberal education coursework. Provide training and online orientation for District instructors, in course development, online best practices and guidance with Moodle. UMC may also utilize its 3-D (Instructional Technology Informatic Laboratory) lab. Utilize existing enrollment structures and technology intergration plans to guide the transition from on campus and in classroom to virtual - online instruction
