In this chapter, we would like to explain our approach to outlining model specifications. We’ve added some extra specs to our tables, in particular trekking related components such as racks, fenders, kickstands and lights. In order to make the presentation and selling of our products more efficient, we’re also introducing a brand new feature called spec change indicators. These are simple, easy-to-decipher icons indicating significant differences between models. On the left side of the column you will see upgrades to a higher model and, similarly on the right side the downgrades to the lower ones. A gray point reflects a value neutral difference between models. Finally, there is the wheel size information. As this is the single most requested piece of information, we have listed this next to every bicycle in the workbook.
After a transition year, the time to say good-bye to the old system has arrived. There are plenty of reasons, but the major one lies in the improvements we have made in bicycle ergonomics. Geometries have changed, and we believe that our new sizing system is the best way for our customers to choose the right frame size because it’s universal and easy to understand. For those who prefer the traditional geometry tables, we will still include them at the end of the workbook. People often ask us for advice when they are unsure about which size to choose. The answer of our R&D team is simple in that a person’s choice should reflect their riding style and skill level. Riders preferring more comfort and stability should opt for the bigger size, while those skilled riders who value agility and playfulness should choose the smaller sized option.

Um die Beratung und den Verkauf unserer Produkte noch einfacher zu machen, haben wir unsere Datenblätter überarbeitet. Wir haben einige zusätzliche Informationen integriert, insbesondere Trekking-Komponenten wie Gepäckträger, Schutzbleche, Fahrradständer und Lampen. Neu sind jetzt auch Icons, die auf den ersten Blick die Unterschiede zwischen den Modellen einer Serie markieren. Auf der linken Seite der Spalte sind die Upgrades zu den teureren Modellen gekennzeichnet und dementsprechend auf der rechten Seite Downgrades zu günstigeren Modellen. Ein grauer Punkt weist auf einen Ausstattungsunterschied hin, ohne diesen zu bewerten. Schließlich ist die Präferenz mancher Komponenten einfach eine Frage der persönlichen Vorliebe. Die Laufradgröße haben wir direkt neben jedem Fahrrad aufgeführt.
Mit unserem neuen, einfachen und universellen Größensystem haben wir die klassischen Tabellen überflüssig gemacht. Wir sind überzeugt, dass es so für unsere Kunden deutlich einfacher ist, sich für die passende Rahmengröße zu entscheiden. Schließlich geht es bei dieser Entscheidung nicht nur um Millimeter- und Gradangaben. Einsatzgebiet und Können des Fahrers spielen eine wichtige Rolle. Wer sich mehr Komfort und Laufruhe wünscht, wählt einen größeren Rahmen. Fortgeschrittene Fahrer, die Wert auf Wendigkeit und verspielte Fahreigenschaften legen, wählen einen kleineren Rahmen. Aber keine Sorge: Wenn du eine traditionelle Geometrie-Tabelle bevorzugst, findest du diese am Ende dieses Workbooks.
