Dear Rye Brook Resident: Rye Brook Recreation has been working on its spring and summer programs. Our Little League season will open on April 16th. Registration for Day Camp, Teen Camp, Little League Baseball and Softball and Rookie League is ongoing. For all other programs, registration will begin on March 23rd at 9:30pm. Online registration allows us to notify you of all programs available to you. Also, if you are interested in other Village functions and would like to be emailed, please register on the Village’s home page at www.ryebrook.org. For all other recreation programs you are able to pay online with a credit card. For outside contractor programs, you can register online and mail us your payment. If your payment is not received within seven days, your registration will be cancelled and we will accept the next waitlisted family. We will once again be hosting Movie Nights in the Park this summer. We will offer one movie night each month beginning in June through August. The movies are listed under Special Events in our brochure. Rye Brook Little League will be entering its 15th season for 3rd through 7th grade players 12 and under. The Rookie League is entering its 10th season for 1st and 2nd graders. The Little League Parade will take place on Saturday, April 16th at 12:30pm to officially commence the Little League season. We invite all of our residents to cheer our youth ball players and emergency service workers along the parade route and throughout the Little League season. This spring the Rye Brook Concession stand at the Rye Brook Athletic Field will be open on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons beginning April 23rd. Rye Brook Recreation will be hosting Ice Cream Fridays during the month of July. We will be serving free ice cream in the park each Friday from 6-7:30pm to bring the public out to our facilities. Stay tuned to your emails and local newspapers as we get closer to July for the locations to that week’s Ice Cream Friday event. Rye Brook Recreation will be resurfacing the Harkness Park Tennis Courts during the month of August. During this process, these courts will be closed for approximately two weeks. Coming this fall, Rye Brook Recreation will be taking over the afterschool program (currently YMCA) at Ridge Street School. This program will be from 3:10-6:30pm at Ridge Street school and is most beneficial for the working families of Rye Brook. The Recreation Department is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays. We welcome any feedback on our programs. We hope Rye Brook Recreation is meeting the needs of the community. I look forward to seeing you enjoy these fine recreational programs and the beauty of the many parks within the Village. Robert Bertolacci Parks & Recreation Superintendent
