The 3rd floor lobby serves as a space which connects the multiple platforms of E-Block building through visual communication and spatial arrangement. The positioning of the spaces gives a vantage point towards the open spaces of the ground floor and the OAT in front of the Library. Above it, there is a visual connection with the 4th floor lobby. While maintaining these aspects we have tried to create a more comfortable space which acts as a space for people to collect and relax in amidst the working hours of the college. The lobby extends into an open area which gives a feeling of freedom and space to the user. To enhance the feeling we have tried to create a more comfortable space for people to experience. By adding louvres on one side of the lobby we have tried to create a semi-private experience, while also maintaining its communication ability with the 1st floor lobby; they also assist in channelling the South-east flow of the wind. After taking into consideration the path of sunlight on the lobby floors, we placed a seating arrangement along with the louvres to give a more convenient resting space to the users. With the canteens being located on the lower floors it becomes difficult for the people on the upper floors to have access, by providing a canteen space it creates a resting space between the five floors of the building; additionally making it a more attractive space.
