INTERIOR DESIGN

This programme identifies the role of Interior architecture as a specialist discipline of its own with a clear body of knowledge. It is an architecturally oriented programme with emphasis on spatial design as well as embellishments. The programme aligns with the core values of SSAA with the focus on critical thinking, aesthetics, sustainability and heritage.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

The program will endeavour to establish the importance of the role of landscape architects as stewards of the land, that strive to achieve the highest quality in the built and natural landscapes. The programme holds strong connections to regional planning, urban design, heritage, environmental resilience and architecture, in order to produce professionals capable of responding to the challenges found at the intersection of design, culture, urbanization, and ecology.

ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATION

An Insight

The vast built heritage resource in the country is suffering due to disconnect between the role of the layperson and the expert in identifying what is heritage and engaging with it. The premise of the programme is to make built heritage relevant in the present context and intertwined into the everyday lives of communities; along with involvement of private investors, government as well as non governmental agencies.

The Master’s Session

The afternoon session was introduced with the majors of Masters program taught at Sushant school of architecture. The students and mentors of various master program give the students a briefing on what the Masters program is. Each and every major was unique in nature and the students shared their experience in how they chose the majors of masters and the mentors of the Masters explained how it would help them practice their passion.

An Overview

The programme identifies the role of the urban designer in redefining the 21st century urban landscape, it develops new paradigms of research, practice and pedagogy to meet the challenges of urbanization with the focus on sustainability and heritage. It aims to alter the very thinking and approach with which we look at urban design in India, and intends to create thought leaders who will pave the way for other developing countries to follow suit.
