Chairman’s Column
I do want to let you know that the association along with the CRVA, are working with Transport Canada and the provincial jurisdictions on an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) exemption for Tow Away drivers in the RV industry. The mandatory ELD requirement came into effect January 1st. As many of the drivers bringing units into Canada use personally owned commercial vehicles, we have requested an exemption for the industry similar to the US where the department of transportation granted an RV-industry-specific ELD exemption for deliveries. Please let us know if you have been experiencing any delays in getting units due to this new requirement.
It is not too early to mark your calendars for this year’s Convention/Expo. This year’s event will take place from November 6-10, at Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. As always, this is the premier educational event of the year for North American RV dealers and dealership professionals. There will once again be a diverse lineup of speakers in workshops covering the many departments of an RV dealership. This year’s event will also feature the Expo Hall, showcasing products and services to assist dealers improve their offerings and profitability. We will have registration materials available in April.

Have a great spring selling season everyone!
