LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE Have you experienced our wonderful new venue at the historic Capitol Theatre in Downtown Clearwater, within sight of the Gulf of Mexico and beautiful Coachman Park? Response to the Theatre and shows there has been excellent. With Clearwater’s City Council unanimously approving underwriting for the Capitol, the number of shows will increase from 36 to 100 annually, including both live events and films. This expansion is designed to bring new life and activity to downtown Clearwater. Beginning with an outdoor concert by Todd Rundgren on March 27, 2009, we had offered a total of 43 shows at the Capitol by the end of January 2011. Artists have ranged from Allstar Weekend to our inaugural performance by William Joseph on April 4, 2009. We have featured rock, pop, blues, classical, comedy, New Age and more. For film buffs, we offered JAWS, Ghostbusters, and a series of theater productions filmed live at the National Theatre in London, England. We have presented live concerts by some of today’s hot new stars like Nikki Yanofsky and David Garrett, and familiar favorites like Arlo Guthrie, Ottmar Liebert, Marc Cohn and Judy Collins. “The Cap” is at the center of the excitement in downtown Clearwater, convenient to shopping and dining, and offers something for everyone. Plan a night on the town. We’re offering more variety, more shows, more fun! To be sure not to miss any of the great events at the Capitol, sign up for our e-newsletter or check out our new website: www.atthecap.com.
