The history of PPP is blown up with terrible incidents

The history of PPP is riddled with terrible incidents. All of them stand proof of the strong courage and unshakable faith of the mission of the PPP. The legacy of the Bhuttos is getting brighter and brighter, despite the five year term of the PPP led government has come to a natural end after a long history of the military and civilian coups.

After the judicial murder of Z.A. Bhutto, the first elected prime minister of Pakistan, the Bhuttos come in to politics to save the PPP, a party who was the symbol of courage and symbolized itself as a Godfather of the poor masses of the country. PPP also bore the heavy loss of the two sons of Z.A. Bhutto and finally his eldest daughter, Benazir Bhutto, who was herself a symbol of courage and hope for the poor and underprivileged. Her murder, a brutal incident, took place on December 27, 2007. A day forever marked in the history of Pakistan as the day when the Daughter of the East, the brave Benazir Bhutto was assassinated at the fateful Liaquat Bagh of Rawalpindi. The grief of her assassination will never subside and the generations to come will feel the agony of her departure. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto desired to see her dream of enlightenment, prosperity, peace and tranquility, not only in Pakistan, not only in region but across the whole world. She returned to Pakistan with an extended programme and with the reconciliation policy, which the former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari had forwarded ahead in letter and spirit and the Pakistan People’s Party is fully adherent to that policy of reconciliation. She was a big obstruction in the way of frustrated elements and she was fully aware of threat to her life. She declared, “The country is widespread with threats and I have also been receiving threats to my life. I am not afraid of such cowardly threats. I have ignored all the threats to my life for the sake of my country and my people.” In my opinion the matter of fact was that the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had a mission ahead to protect democracy in Pakistan and protect the entire world form the to-be imposed war that the controlling circles of the non-Muslim world and the extremist groups from the Islamic world had waged against the peace and people of the world. She was fully convinced that it was the poverty, lack of education and inequality that paved ways for terrorism and extremism and even dictatorship. It was, she believed and worked with sincerity that the internal tribal disputes in the Muslim world should be put to an end and should be replaced by stronger political and economic reforms, which should be allowed to go ahead. However, it is very unfortunate to see that the present Pakistan Muslim League-N Government is working in opposition to that policy of reconciliation and if they continue, severe damage would be inflicted on to the country. The democracy could be jeopardized as there were forces that wanted to derail democracy could achieve their goals. Thus, the ambitions of the enemies of peace could succeed in waging a war. Any attempt by the civilian leader could attract some Army Generals to enter again into the adventure and the extremist groups could regain power. Now finally PPP leadership had decided that Bilawal will contest elections for NA-204 from Larkana. The NA-204 constituency has symbolic importance because former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and late Nusrat Bhutto had been contesting and winning elections from this constituency. The important point I am making here that the five graves of Ghari Khuda Bux are looking towards the people of Pakistan and raising the question of what has come from the sacrifice of their precious lives? The answer is simple the leadership of the PPP should stop confrontation policies and pursue reconciliation policies, which is best in the interest of the party and for growing of democracy. Now if Fatima Bhutto, daughter of late Mir Murtaza Bhutto, has started mulling to contest against Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from NA-204, would be a big challenge? A challenge for the people of Sindh that, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari contesting against Fatima Bhutto? By Jawaid Riaz

Chaudhry’s retirement ended an era of aggressive judicial activism that even led to the resignation of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who was forced to quit after he refused to act on the Supreme Court’s orders to reopen graft charges against then President Asif Ali Zardari. The top judge was credited with making the judiciary a strong pillar and he was feared by politicians and bureaucrats. Chaudhry built a reputation for himself through direct confrontation with the civilian government and the powerful military. He believes his legacy will continue even after he departs from the Supreme Court. Born in Quetta on December 12, 1948, Chaudhry is the longest serving Chief Justice in Pakistan’s history. Benazir Bhutto’s real legacy

Benazir Bhutto was the first lady to rule any muslim country in this world. She was also one of the most influential leaders of south asia. Benazir Bhutto was born in Karachi, Pakistan to a prominent political family. At age 16 she left her homeland to study at Harvard’s Radcliffe College. After completing her undergraduate degree at Radcliffe she studied at England’s Oxford University, where she was awarded a second degree in 1977. Later that year she returned to Pakistan where her father, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, had been elected prime minister, but days after her arrival, the military seized power and her father was imprisoned. In 1979 he was hanged by the military government of General Zia Ul Haq. Bhutto herself was also arrested many times over the following years, and was detained for three years before being permitted to leave the country in 1984. She settled in London, but along with her two brothers, she founded an underground organization to resist the military dictatorship. When her brother died in 1985, she returned to Pakistan for his burial, and was again arrested for participating in anti-government rallies. She returned to London after her release, and martial law was lifted in Pakistan at the end of the year. Anti-Zia demonstrations resumed and Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan in April 1986.

Only two years into her first term, President Ghulam Ishaq Khan dismissed Bhutto from office. She initiated an anti-corruption campaign, and in 1993 was reelected as Prime Minister. While in office, she brought electricity to the countryside and built schools all over the country. She made hunger, housing and health care her top priorities, and looked forward to continuing to modernize Pakistan. At the same time, Bhutto faced constant opposition from the Islamic fundamentalist movement. Her brother Mir Murtaza, who had been estranged from Benazir since their father’s death, returned from abroad and leveled charges of corruption at Benazir’s husband, Asif Ali Zardari. Mir Murtaza died when his bodyguard became involved in a gunfight with police in Karachi. The Pakistani public was shocked by this turn of events and PPP supporters were divided over the charges against Zardari. In 1996 President Leghari of Pakistan dismissed Benazir Bhutto from office, alleging mismanagement, and dissolved the National Assembly. A Bhutto reelection bid failed in 1997, and the next elected government, headed by the more conservative Nawaz Sharif, was overthrown by the military. Bhutto’s husband was imprisoned, and

ary 2008, her Pakistan People’s Party was poised for a victory that would make Bhutto prime minister once again. Only a few weeks before the election, the extremists struck again. After a campaign rally in Rawalpindi, a gunman fired at her car before detonating a bomb, killing himself and more than 20 bystanders. Bhutto was rushed to the hospital, but soon succumbed to injuries suffered in the attack. In the wake of her death, rioting erupted throughout the country. The loss of the country’s most popular democratic leader has plunged Pakistan into turmoil, intensifying the dangerous instability of a nuclear-armed nation in a highly volatile region.

GARHI KHUDA BUKHSH: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Patronin-chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday announced his two sisters would follow him into politics before the next general elections.

Calling terrorists “wild animals” who are “thirsty for human blood”, the PPP leader said that his party would stand against terrorism.

“If the arrow [electoral symbol of PPP] and lion [electoral symbol of ruling PML-N] jointly hunt the animals [terrorists], they could save the country from monsters.” Bilawal said he would launch a jihad against terrorists because elimination of terrorists is “the only way to restore peace in Pakistan”. Criticising the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Bilawal said the terrorist outfit killed Benazir and many other innocent people.

Bilawal announced that he would stand by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif if any attempt was made to derail democracy.

Musharraf, a former army chief, would be the first military ruler tried for treason in a country that has experienced three military coups in its 66-year history. He could face the death penalty or life in prison if he is convicted of treason, but some question whether the country’s powerful army actually will let that happen. Musharraf has maintained his innocence.

Heroes Never Die: Chaudhry Aslam and Aitizaz Hassan

rank of an SP, his promotion was made on the basis of his braveness and experience in encounters of hardened criminals and terrorists.

SSP-CID Chaudhry Aslam was martyred in a suicide bomb blast near Essa Nagri at the Lyari Expressway in Karachi. Super cop Chaudry Aslam known by different name like ‘Sultan Rahi of Karachi’, ‘encounter specialist’ and ‘baba police’ was one of Pakistan’s best known Police commanders. Chaudry Aslam was the head of the Anti-Extremist Cell of the CID and was known for encounters with the leaders of different banned militant organizations like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah-e-Mohammad, Sipah-e-Sahaba. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the blast. After initial investigation it was reported that a pickup truck with around 200kg explosive material kept in blue cans on the top of the pickup truck was used in this attack.

Chaudhry Aslam laid to rest amid tight security Chaudhry Aslam originally belonged to Mansehra and his real name was Muhammad Aslam. He joined police force in 1984 as ASI and soon got into the higher ranks of police because of his braveness and vicious raids on criminals. He took part in both the operations against the MQM in 1990’s. He was the only living police officer who took part in those operations, rest of the officers were killed. Teenager Super Star Aitizaz Hassan

In another incident earlier this week, Aitizaz Hassan, a teenage boy laid his life to save hundreds of his fellow students and teachers when he intercepted a suicide bomber some 150 meters away from the main gate of the school in the northwestern district of Hangu. He wanted to capture that suicide bomber when he noticed a detonator in his hands, he grabbed him but at the same time the suicide bomber blew himself. His family said that they are proud of Aitizaz Hassan and insisted that rather than focus on the sorrow brought about by his death, they want to focus on their pride in his actions.

On the other hand we are the victim of terrorism from last decade or so but what have our politicians done to strengthen their security controls. Terrorists are arrested by police, FC and other security forces by laying their lives in danger but in courts the same terrorists are set free because of weaknesses in our law. Then these terrorists go and kill the same security personals who had arrested them. Those few who are sentenced to death are kept in the jails and one day they are released by their fellow members in a jail break.

HYDERABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain again demanded a new province for Muhajirs, saying “If you do not like Sindhi Urdu speakers then make a separate province for them”, SAMAA reports on Friday.

“It is not appropriate to create ethnic division through public meetings, everybody knows who is behind hooliganism,” he said and added that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not allow creating law and order situation.

Senator Mustafa Kamal

Has Moved Abroad Because Of Personal And Domestic Reasons: Rabta Committee mittee (Rabita Committee) of the MQM has termed all such reports as baseless and fabricated that claim that there are differences between Senator Mustafa Kamal and the MQM.

In a press statement, the Central Co-ordination Committee said that the fact of the matter is that Syed Mustafa Kamal has moved abroad purely due to some personal and domestic reasons. Prior to leaving the country, the statement added, Senator Mustafa Kamal had formally informed the MQM’s leadership. The statement further said that citing personal and family reasons, Syed Mustafa Kamal submitted his resignation from Senate seat to the party leadership in the first week of November. The party, however, has not made any decision on the matter so far. Acknowledging tremendous services rendered by Syed Mustafa Kamal as City Nazim of Karachi, the statement said “everyone appreciates his great work. MQM recognizes and appreci-

ates his work too and pays him great tributes.“ “After the end of his term of office as the City Nazim in 2009, Syed Mustafa Kamal had sought leave from the party’s political activities because of some personal business. The party gladly granted the request back then as well,“ explained the statement of Co-ordination Committee. The statement concluded that the party’s founder and leader Mr. Altaf Hussain, Rabta Committee and all members of the party wish Syed Mustafa Kamal all the best and pray to Almighty for the positive resolution of his personal problems so that he may be able to resume his political activities from the party’s platform and serve the nation.

Demoralised England capitulated after tea against the home side’s pace attack, losing seven wickets in 52 minutes on their way to being bundled out for 166 in 31.4 overs, getting nowhere near the 448 target for victory. It was the sixth time the beleaguered tourists had been skittled for under 200 in the series and the crushing defeat is expected to have major ramifications for English cricket just months after they beat Australia 3-0 in England. The highest successful run chase at the SCG is Australia’s 288 for two against South Africa eight years ago.

Sarfraz Ahmed scored 74 after Pakistan resumed at 330-7. The first Test ended in a draw in Abu Dhabi. The third and final Test starts in Sharjah from Thursday. Brief Scores: Pakistan 165 and 359; Sri Lanka 388 and 137-1

were trying too hard to ape the brasher attitude of the American show – and Simon Cowell in particular – without the humour and without regard to Pakistan’s rather genteel sensibilities.

“Here, it seems that the judges are trying overly hard to channel the mocking nature of their American counterparts, especially Simon, but failing miserably,” wrote Noman Ansari, a blogger. Not that the criticism has affected Mr Azmat, who has been baiting his critics on twitter this week. And the producers are unrepentant. A show insider said: “It’s a bit of a culture shock. This is not a place where people say what they think – well not in public, at least – but it’s all part of the show.” Imran Aslam, the president of Geo TV, the channel that bought the rights to the Pop Idol franchise, promised not to tone down the criticism. “There’s certainly been some criticism of the judges but it should be taken in the spirit of the show,” he said. “If someone can’t sing, well then they can’t sing.”
