n 2nd March, India Rawsthorn from Macclesfield turned fifteen, just like millions of other teenage girls have done and will do. Like her peers, her future will hold GCSEs and boyfriends and Instagram selfies – but, unlike them, and as one of the brightest new faces at the UK’s largest modelling agency, it might very well also hold world domination. Already standing 5ft 6in, with long blonde hair and a neat, elfin face, it’s India’s wide, saucer-like green-blue eyes which really make her stand out. They are completely arresting
scouted there, I met with Select and talked about it a lot with my family, and we decided to give it a go. Since then, I’ve basically just been building my portfolio – because I’m too young to do much professional modelling work yet and Select are really encouraging me to focus on my school work and exams – but I’ve done a lot of work on stage, performing at the Royal Exchange and the Royal Opera House in Manchester, and in front of the camera in Coronation Street. I do regular ballet and acrobatics classes, too, and there are lots of opportunities to be involved in the performing arts at school, so I’m always rehearsing for something!” Despite being only fifteen, India is mature and pragmatic about her chosen career – thanks, it seems, to a grounded worldliness and a strong work ethic. “I live and go to school in Cheshire at the moment, but I did spend a year travelling with my family around the world when I was seven, living in Canada, Hungary and Costa Rica,” she
