With approximately 2,400 employees and 470 patient beds, Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) is a Level One Trauma Center and Designated Stroke Center serving the 500,000 residents of the Staten Island community. The hospital provides inpatient and outpatients services in the areas of surgery, gastroenterology, pediatrics, endocrinology, urology, oncology, orthopedics, patient-centered medical home, behavioral, maternal and neonatal health, and emergency care. RUMC is an academic and clinical affiliate of Mount Sinai Hospital and has an integrated surgical program with SUNY Downstate Medical Center. The hospital's residency program includes internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery, and radiology, with more than 140 residents. RUMC has a strong fellowship program in areas, including minimally invasive surgery, renal, cardiology, GI, and hemo-oncology.
