At the end of the event, we shared with our guests the launch of our Ruislip High School journey which was written by a number of staff, primarily Mr Randall and Mrs Hill; it is as follows: The green is the grass, The blue is the sky, We wear it like a medal, We wear it on our ties, We stand at grass roots, We reach for the sky, We strive to progress: Hard work makes success, The green on the ground, The blue that’s up high, It stands for our school, We are Ruislip High! I continue to be extremely proud of our Ruislip High’s achievements over the past ten years and believe we will continue to be a school both in, and for, our community.

PRESENTATION EVENING

Ruislip High School’s annual Presentation Evening took place on Thursday 17th November. It was a wonderful evening celebrating students’ attainment and hard work during the last academic year. The order of proceedings included opening remarks by the Chair of the Governing Body, Cllr Eddie Lavery, and a review of the year by Headteacher, Dr Martina Lecky. Musical performances included a vocal solo by Lauren (Year 13), the Year 7 choir and the Ruislip High ukulele band. There were also poetry readings by the Key Stage 3 poetry competition winners, Aaron (Year 7) and Tamara (Year 9). The guest speaker was the school’s first ever head Boy, Karanjeet Sagoo, who reflected fondly about his time at Ruislip High. He has recently graduated with a BSc honours degree in Biomedical Science, and is now fulfilling his life-long ambition as a medical student. Over 150 students received either form, subject or bestowed prizes and the hall was full to capacity with family members supporting their children’s achievements. Page 5
