Dianella Primary College Annual Report 2021 Numeracy Improvement NUMERACY Dianella Primary College achieved as expected results in year 3 and year 5 NAPLAN Numeracy testing in 2021 with 94% of the year 3 cohort achieving at or above the National Minimum Standard and 91% of the year 5 cohort achieving at or above the National Minimum Standard. Analysis of numeracy data shows that although the school is achieving as expected results, we continue to have a large percentage of students at or below National Minimum Standard and a small percentage of students achieving in the top 20% of results. In 2021 stable cohort students achieved our overall Business Plan target of Higher Progress/Higher Achievement when compared to like schools.

Although not achieving all of our Business Plan Targets, it is worthwhile noting that our stable cohort of students is making Higher Progress – Higher Achievement in Numeracy. This is informing us that we are making above average progress in this area with our stable cohort of students. Actions The following strategies have been implemented in 2021 to build on the strength of Progress and Achievement and to further strengthen our whole school approaches: • Strengthening our practice in the early years, with the introduction of a Bond Blocks, and targeted professional learning in this program for each member of our Numeracy
