How did your previous real estate and finance experience help the transition to Mornington Peninsula Real Estate?
Over 15 years in the Melbourne real estate market followed by 15+ years in asset finance, taught me that good sales skills are transferrable. The key is to listen to what people want and help guide them to a desired outcome. When my wife Caz and I first bought on the Peninsula, we noticed that that ability to listen was lacking and I felt a real estate role locally would be a good thing for me to apply my skills to again and it’s been great!
How long have you been in real estate and what was the trigger for this career choice?
I started on the rentals desk of a large South Yarra agency in 1988 and it was my first ‘real’ job after deciding that I no longer wanted to have a life in hospitality yet I knew I wanted a job where I could talk to people all day. While I took a break from real estate and worked in asset finance, I also helped set up and run a buyer’s advocacy for more than a decade, so I’ve never really been out of it.
‘We live local, we are local’ - where do you live, and what do you love about your community?
Mount Eliza up on the ‘hill’ in the Woodlands. We love the space around us and having been there for a little while now we also love the local shops and the community that’s built around them
What has been your greatest accomplishment at RT Edgar Mornington Peninsula?
My seemingly seamless integration into and being accepted by such a dynamic, supportive, diverse and wonderful group of people.
What is an interesting fact about you that clients may not know?
I particularly enjoy touring and camping around Australia in both my car and on my motorbike. Additionally I’m also heavily involved in the Victorian High Country Huts Association that helps preserve the approx 220 huts in the Vic High Country.
What does ‘down time’ look like for you?
Packing the car or the bike and taking off, even if just for a night. Caz is not as fond of this activity, so I get to stay around home and go out visiting friends quite a bit too.

The scenic hinterland of Red Hill is abundant with activity and possibility.
