LET'S LOOK AT SOME WAYS TO PREVENT CONCRETE CRACKS.

USE TOO MUCH WATER

Many inexperienced DIYers are tempted to add a little additional water to the mix because concrete is generally difficult to work with. But hold on—even a tiny amount of water that is added to concrete in excess of what is advised might weaken it. Once the mix is laid, the extra water evaporates, causing shrinkage and, eventually, fissures. Follow the directions carefully and choose the appropriate type of concrete mix for the task. Add water sparingly if you need to add a little extra to help with any dry bits.

DON'T
Warm weather is the ideal time for pouring concrete. When surface temperatures may fall below 35 degrees Fahrenheit, avoid trying to complete this task. Cover the concrete if there are any unexpected temperature decreases (below 50 F) during the week following installation. Using a heated or insulated blanket, thick polythene covering, or both can help guard against structural deterioration and cracking. Strong winds should also be avoided while the concrete is curing since they can result in surface cracks. BE AWARE OF THE WEATHER
Premature settlement cracks are less likely in a base that has been properly prepared. The sub-grade must be frost-free, smooth, well-tamped down, and have sufficient drainage. The concrete slabs would be more prone to movement and cracking without this strong, secure basis. Don't dig too deeply when prepping your sub-grade because loose soil is a big no-no. Extra settling concerns can arise as a result of having to add more soil to fill in some of the area. MAKE THE BASE READY

problem if a deep crack develops that is wider than a credit card. On the ground, it presents a trip risk, and foundation fissures may result in structural issues. You can ask RPlus concrete repair services to evaluate the damage and offer a repair solution if you have any worries.
