Education and Qualifications Currently studying; Fashion Futures; Forecasting, Innovation and Trend Analysis BA(Hons) – University of East London A unique programme that will allow me to be involved in the two dimensional aspects of fashion and gain knowledge and understanding of the information designers need to enable them to create clothes that consumers want to buy. My first year of Fashion Futures was spent studying Fashion Design/Pattern Cutting and Trend Forecasting. Now in my second year, my main tasks heavily involve discovering sub-cultures, trends and “Culture Brailing”. I have recently completed studies on re-branding a niche company, which I focused on Artrocker Magazine (who I work for), discovering emerging trends within Luxury, Lifestyle, Communication, Fashion and Culture and producing a presentation which I performed in front of founders of Jam Design Jamie Anley and Astrid Zala and a project on 8-bit people, looking at musicians and artists practicing Chiptune and Circuit Bending. Through the later project, I learnt how to create my own website; homepages.uel.ac.uk/u0735782. I also have a basic knowledge of Photoshop. I regularly travel around London in search for creative groups, hubs, events whilst networking with influential people. Networking is key, as a great deal of my work is based upon insider’s information. I am also practicing making predictive scenarios for the future from my research. Making my work as creative as possible, I produce illustrations, graphics, short films and manipulations. I also study Wearable Futures where I look at how fashion is combined with technology and what is possible for the future. Employment History: March 2009 – Present:: Artrocker Magazine I am currently involved in a number of projects at Artrocker Magazine as music has become my main focus. My tasks include; •

Organising and logging new single/album releases

Assisting the reviews editor; shadowing at gigs and writing reviews

Setting up the Artrocker Fashion Blog

Interviewing bands and having my work published

Regularly having to contact bands, record labels and promotions companies for the directors at Artrocker

August 2008 – Present: All Saints – Sales Advisor I am currently a part time Sales Advisor for All Saints, here I developed a range of skills including organising and delegating tasks on the shop floor, being head cashier for womenswear, cashing up , MasterCard Motivator and also sorting out any issues that occur during the day. Currently providing Allsaints stores with a playlist of what I believe to be suitable, fashionable, cultural and educational music for consumers. April 2005 – January 2007: Topshop – Visual Merchandiser As a Visual Merchandiser, I focused on organizing and implementing changes to the shop floor in order to make it as commercial and profitable as possible. This is through the variation of store layouts, mannequin styling, visual treatments, merchandising and fixture placement. My main job is to supervise the visuals working closely with the immediate and regional management team in order to come to the best merchandising decisions. •

Setting up the “Model Store” for the new season achieving an exceedingly high result of 98% for SS06 and 96% for AW06. I also helped other stores such as Bluewater in their set ups.

Taking appointments for the Style Advisor.

Re-merchandising walls/fixtures and having an excellent understanding of product knowledge and placement.

Updated staff on up and coming trends.

July 2006: Fenwick Fashion Show Stylist – Work Experience During the summer of 2006, I was the stylist for the seasonal Fenwicks fashion show. It was my job to arrange outfits and accessories for each model. As Fenwicks is made up of many concessions, I had to meet with the managers to see if they would be prepared to loan their clothes for the fashion show and do fittings with the models. Before the show, I met the hair and make-up stylist to discuss the final look. June 2005: Established my own Clothing Business – Independent Distributor I set up my own mini brand, where I was able to produce creative designs for a small t-shirt distribution business I started. Here I would screen print and hand paint basic designs on to t-shirts. Personal Interests I have a new found knowledge and respect for music, and extremely enjoy incorporating undiscovered bands and artists into my work. I feel that I have a good knowledge already but I am very keen to widen this to have a greater understanding of bands as an independent brand; I have a passion for D.I.Y and independent music and the communities within undiscovered talent. I love to attend as many gigs as I can; I have just recently come back from ATP festival in Minehead. I love to travel a great deal and have visited many places including New York, Paris, Krakow and Thailand. I plan to visit many more and hope that my future career will enable me to travel to various parts of the world. Another passion of mine is new developments in technology. I recently completed a study on surveillance clothing and investigated the future advances in technology within textiles. I am currently developing this and exploring further fashion technology for my dissertation. I regularly read magazines as I can to keep myself up to date and I spend a great deal of my time going to events and exhibitions around London to expand my knowledge of popular culture. I also spend a huge amount of time on my laptop and consider myself computer literate. I have also taken part in a photography course as I am keen to widen my knowledge on all aspects of the media.
