Welcome to the special Christmas issue of AV News e-xtra!

Last year we started a tradition of including Christmas images from various members of the AV community, so this is a continuation of that, skilfully edited as usual by Martin Addison, with festive graphics by Andrew Gagg.

With Christmas almost upon us, the AV year has pretty much wrapped up for 2022, and has been a mix of Zoom and live meetings. I expect that 2023 will follow the same pattern, with maybe a swing from on-line back to live sessions. There is room for both - looking at my calendar for 2023, I seem to have an equal number of Zoom bookings and live ones! Hopefully there will be enough live events for lots of us to actually meet face-to-face at some point next year.

So have a very Merry Christmas and healthy New Year, and if you’ve not yet had enough of the festive season, here’s a short sequence I made many years ago featuring the Christmas lights of London in the peak shopping period:
