Scholarships

We encourage scholarship applications from girls registering to join Royal High School Bath in line with their entry at Year 7 (11+), Year 9 (13+) and as they enter the Sixth Form in Year 12. These are awarded for all-round academic excellence.

Our Scholarship process runs alongside our Admissions process, and as such we have key registration deadlines to enable us to prepare for your daughter’s application.

Why do we award scholarships?

We recognise excellence and strive to stretch and challenge our most able students. We award scholarships to allow access to an education for those whose talent would particularly benefit from this.

Finance

Typically, scholarships are worth 10% remission on the tuition fees. In certain cases an honorary scholarship may be awarded. There is no monetary value attached to this award, but it allows girls to have full access to the Scholars’ Programme.

How are scholarships awarded and who can apply?

Internal and external applicants in Years 7, 9 and 12 are eligible to apply for scholarships ahead of that academic year. Internal Year 9 scholarships are honorary.

All applicants are considered for Academic Scholarships on the basis of their performance in the entrance exams or internal assessments. For Sixth Form, this includes two papers for A Level and two for International Baccalaureate (IB). Applicants will also need to complete an application form with a supporting statement and attend an interview.

Applicants are invited to audition for specialist scholarships in one of three main areas specifying the subject in which they are interested.
