UNDERSTANDING ADDICTION IN THE FAMILY Are you or a family member struggling with addiction having difficulty cutting back on your use of alcohol or other mood-altering substance? CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP: On the 3rd Thursday of each month (September 19), 2-3 p.m., the Dept of Social Work at Madigan Army Medical Center hosts a support group called "Caring for the Caregiver." The group meets in the Nursing Tower at Madigan on the Second Floor in the South Waiting Room. The Caregiver Support Group is an open group designed to provide information & support for anyone who is the caregiver of someone with a chronic medical condition. WALK-IN SERVICES are now available for all service members in the Behavioral Health Clinic at Madigan Army Medical Center, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The Soldier Readiness Service (SRS) located at Madigan Annex has permanently closed. Contact Madigan BH Clinic at 968-2700. 81. THE CHILD AND FAMILY ASSISTANCE CENTER (CAFAC) provides behavioral health services for active duty family members including individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. CAFAC is located in Bldg 9923 at the Madigan Annex. Triage hours are daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assess individual or family's needs and decide the most appropriate services available for their situation. Contact CAFAC at 968-4843. Services are also available through the School Behavioral Health (SBH) program for children enrolled in one of the base elementary schools. Contact SBH at 477-3731. 82. THE WARRIOR CHECK-UP is a unique opportunity for Soldiers with questions or concerns about their alcohol or substance use to take stock of their situation and think through their options with a counselor who is outside the military system. Command has no access to names or information of participants. A study funded by the Department of Defense, callers may also complete a series of questionnaires and earn up to $175. This service is no-pressure, nonjudgmental and entirely telephone-based. Call 888 685-3889 to find out more!
