Bold, Beautiful Bridal Trends From jumpsuits to the roaring ‘20s, we’ve got our vision tuned into the bridal trend forecast By Janecia Britt
2019 was defined by the royal wedding, but a new decade is here and we’ve got new trends to prove it. Be ready to see a new modern bride with looks that provide dimension, intrigue and whimsy. If you’re planning a 2020 or 2021 wedding and are about to go shopping for your wedding dress, here’s what you can expect to see arriving at bridal salons. 1. Minimalism to the Max
Less is proving to be more. After the gorgeous bateau neckline of Meghan Markle’s dress flooded our timelines last spring, brides have been running to replicate her simple but gorgeous look. “For our brides who are going for a more simplistic style, it’s all about luxurious fabrics and clean lines this year,” said Kristin Barstow, owner of Vocelle’s Bridal Salon in Tallahassee. “We are seeing this trend across all silhouettes — fit and flare, sheath and a-lines. For these brides, less really is more!” Love the minimalism trend but are concerned with it being too simple? Drum up the drama with a cathedral veil, colorful shoes or a bold lip. 48
