Oudtshoorn (Round Table 33)
Channelling all the charm of The Klein Karoo & in an environment dominated by dry bush, rocks and scrubs, the Oudtshoorn Golf Course is an oasis of lush fairways and tailored greens that keen golfers will appreciate. A challenging, but must-play course layout.
Swellendam (Round Table 179)
South Africa’s third oldest town is a beautiful historic setting at the base of the Langeberg Mountains. The Swellendam 9-hole Golf Course (which can be played as an 18-hole set-up), exhibits a breath-taking 360-degree view of the mountain range and the gorgeous Hermitage Valley.

Round Table Stutterheim 103 Tour to Madagascar
Round Table Stutterheim 103 was fortunate to win the Bingo Draw this year Destination… Madagascar. As 1 International traveller suddenly became 2 a day before departure, where Wynand Botha decided to catch the flight with me, Round Table Madagascar embraced the addition and made it happen Moving forward, traveling with fellow Tablers as opposed to flying solo is definitely recommended, especially in a Country where very little people speak English. It is also a lot more fun being able to build memories together.
After landing in Antananarivo and being met by Mandressy & Tafita, we enjoyed an evening out in the Capital City. The next day we headed down to Manakara with the Round Table Madagascar National President, Gael Randrianarison The coastal town of Manakara is situated on the South East Coast, roughly 550km (16 Hours Drive) With beautiful landscapes which constantly change as you head South, the slow & grueling drive is eased by the surrounding views
We were fortunate to witness the chartering of a new table within the Ladies Circle in a town called Farafangana, South of Marakana A very well organized event & we know the Ladies will grow the region with their vision and plans for the Area. The passion and commitment of the Ladies organization in association with Round Table was truly reflected throughout our time in Madagascar
The AGM was definitely a unique experience and it is truly evident that there is a strong fellowship which flows through each and every Table and together they are certainly a very strong and festive unit Open to new and creative ideas, the members of Madagascar are driving forward and keen to make a big difference within their communities. The Gala Dinner which followed was a real WOW occasion In true Madagascar style, like everything else, the event begun 3 hours late International guests were welcomed by the singing of your Countries National Anthem which was a very nice touch Everyone was dressed to impress at the Red Carpet Themed Dinner where the new incoming Round Table Madagascar National President and his Executives were Inducted. Side by side with the Induction of the Ladies Circle’s New Council.
The Food and Hospitality was simply outstanding A highlight was certainly the Round Table Nations Night which served up a delicious variety buffet & the island party took us into the early hours with great vibes and festive music
We were truly taken aback by the willingness of the Tablers & Ladies Circle where nothing was ever too much and we were able to experience their beautiful country and travel around being shown and informed what their culture is all about We were always accompanied by fellow Tablers (Incl some very cool 41ers) and never felt insecure or unsafe The instant bonds which were created will definitely last a life time as we as “Table Brothers” cannot wait to meet up at future International events where our paths will cross again.
A country facing so many challenges with extreme poverty & overcrowding, yet rich in resources and opportunities, the beautiful island of Madagascar can only grow from strength to strength and Round Table is certainly proving that By standing together, we can all make a difference
A big thank you to Mandressy Iron as the 2022/2023 IRO (& Tabler of the Year) for doing an outstanding job within his profile making this tour possible and effortless. Too many names to mention, but as is always the case, a fantastic opportunity to tour and travel whilst building new friendships which will last a lifetime
Yours In Table
Jotham Stone Stutterheim 103 (Vice-Chairman)
