Turning The Tide On Ocean Pollution Mosselbay 32
Round Table Mossel Bay's commitment to keeping our beaches clean and healthy, as well as protecting and enhancing ocean health, has been re-affirmed with our most recent set of Beach Cleanups.
Spanning over the past two months and in collaboration with volunteers and environmentally conscious institutions, our Members set off to collect and discard of plastic debris scattered along the very popular Hartenbos coastline.
To quantify our efforts, waste collected is now being weighed and recorded to inspire evidence-based action, awareness and education on the scale of ocean pollution, even on Blue Flag beaches.
It's up to our generation to be cognizant of the potentially life-threatening effects of ocean pollution and to mobilise proactive efforts to keep plastic waste in check.
Ultimately, our goal should be to stem the root of the problem, getting to a point where single-use plastic is obsolete.
Mossel Bay 32, with the help of our steadfast volunteers, will keep on turning the tide on ocean pollution, and explore innovative ways to strengthen our ongoing campaign.
