ARTSA TRAVEL BINGO RTAG

Like all things in life, travel is something that all should experience, At least this is what I’ve been told growing up. Being part of this Organisation only makes those chances that much more closer and realistic.

I was the lucky awardee of the RTSA travel bingo draw held back in 2022 at BMG Weesgerus. When

I learnt where we had a Twinning agreement with, first thoughts was how am I going to do this.

As the time drew closer, our outgoing ARTSA IRO assisted in helping make contact and get the communication going.

Mr Timo from Dubai 1 was amazing in all he assisted, leading up to the time for me to depart South Africa on my 1st international experience. I’m by nature a very calculating person, nothing left unknown, but I choose to live slightly different and didn’t google or research unless I had to, so I went in with no expectations but to take it all in, a proper tourist. I landed finally in Dubai at the international airport and already was taken back at the scale and size. Never had I experienced the magnitude of buildings to which this experience would just expand further the more I ventured.

I met up with Mr Timo at the hotel to book in and enjoyed an afternoon around the palm islands. A meet and greet was arranged on the top floor of an adjacent hotel where members from Dubai 1, Doha 4, Kuwait 5, Dubai Creek 11 and past 41er’s joined for a dinner with a view.

Saturday saw the annual meeting being held with around +-25 people in attendance, past chairman, presidents, 41ers and Ladies circle member in attendance. This was said to have been one of the best attended meetings in a long time and I’m happy to have been there to witness it. We table slightly different in ARTSA and to seeing the difference’s gives such a unique feeling of expectations and potential. At the end of the day, we want what’s best for ourselves and one another.

Mr Timo and the other RT brothers showed me to their version of the HARDCORE HUT through multiple venues, where I witnessed Whitney Houston voice double who could sing better than she ever could and that I hope any others traveling to RTAG & Dubai would experience this GEM.

My stay was short and sweet but I did as much as I could in the time given and would like to express my gratitude to all involved, extensions & RTI, RTAG, ARTSA for the opportunity.

Sandown150 on the 10 March 2023 had the opportunity of assisting a sponsored car hand over to CHILDREN OF FIRE.

CHILDREN OF FIRE, is NPO & PBO charity that provides housing for youth burn victims due to home fires, accidents and domestic violence. Assisting in gaining the best professional medical service to the less fortunate, in furthering reach, a goal for 2023 is the focus on burns-treatment and burns prevention research to better assist rural locations.

To reach these rural locations a newer model vehicle is required that is capable of travelling long distance and providing reliability.

VW Strijdom park assisted in finding the vehicle, licensing & all paperwork, aswell as a small surprise of sweets for the kids on the day.

Octangle Marketing sponsored vinyl branding at a short notice to have ready for day of delivery.
