FISHING SOCIAL 2023
This year we decided to do things a little different from previous years so we decided that our annual boys only fishing trip will include the ladies. Therefore, the trip commenced later than planned on the morning of 26 February as the 142 crew dragging their wives from the bed to the harbour. This year we decided to head out with a new captain, Mr Koekemoer and his awesome boat, Calypso.
Racing out the harbour we headed to the wildside and before you can say drag the lines were in the water with great anticipation ready to catch the big ones. The captain became wary that we were the only charters on that side of the bay and carted us to the sheds on the other side of the bay.
With not much time left for fishing we had to make it count. JP Zet du Plessis managed to pull in a massive Yellow Bellow Rock Cod which was the beast of the day and the rest of us licking our wounds with some not-too-shabby pan sizes. Much to our surprise no one was hanging overboard from seasickness and the ladies loved the trip.

Thank you to all the tablers and legs who made the trip an awesome one as we look forward to the next big social.
Yours in table, Cornel Strydom – PE West 142
