Club members raising money to buy rings for softball team

Members of our club decided to continue supporting the Lakewood Ranch High School softball team, which just won its second straight 7A state championship. We outfitted them with new uniforms, and now members want to fund their championship rings. A generous Rotarian will match all donations. Learn more from Paul Oakes at PROakes@GMail.com. We've set up an easy way to donate via PayPal; just select LWRHS Softball Team Rings on the drop-down menu at this link. NEED HELP WITH DACDB? Anyone who needs help using DACdb for various functions can contact club member Christi Womack Villalobos for a tutorial. AMAZON FUNDRAISING: Shop at smile.amazon.com and 0.5% of eligible purchases will be donated to the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch — no fees, no extra cost. Click here to select our club as your charitable organization and help us continue to do good! Every little bit helps.

Congratulations to Susan Courter Our club's Rotarian of the Year earns Zone 34 role In case you missed it: During the Meet The Zone 34 Public Image Team webinar on Monday, the next Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zone 34 was introduced. She's a familiar face in our club, and we are proud of all her well-deserved honors. "Susan Courter is a Rotary All Star who will take this team to the next level," the current coordinator, Marshall Butler, said. Miss the webinar? The recording will be posted online at this link.

Club sponsors 2 Rotary Youth Exchange students Our club this year returns to sponsoring Rotary Youth Exchange students in a new short-term cultural program. Ellie Dalman, a rising senior at Bradenton Christian School, will travel to France to stay with the Eudier family for the month of August. Jeanne Eudier, who is sponsored by Rotary Club 1640 in Yvetot, France, is currently spending time with Ellie and her family. We were honored to meet both young women last week and also to hear more about RYE from Bonita Beach Sunset club member Jerry Grandey, who is a member of the District 6960 RYE Committee. Special thanks go to club member Donna Layrisse for all of her work to make this happen.
