VOLUNTEER TO HELP RENOVATE HOMES TO GIVE TO DESERVING VETERANS Every one of Our Next Mission projects are unique. We knew that the floor on our current unit required a complete rebuild, but we didn't realize that the subsurface would require replacing. Regardless, the crews have been busy demolishing the old floor and installing the necessary replacement support joists to install a brand new floor. So the plywood is on site and the nail guns are loaded. Have you always wanted to shoot a nail gun? This is your chance! Seriously, as we inch our way to Veterans Day on Nov. 11, we plan to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Greg Kisella said he can't think of a better way to honor those who help protect us by working on a project that will help a veteran in need when completed. Pescara Lake is at 5700 57th Ave. W, Bradenton. We are working on Unit 63. Thanks to all who volunteered this week. We had several folks from the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch helped and made jobs easier. If you would like a little exercise and fellowship, please join us. Every skill level is needed and appreciated!

If you would like to participate in these efforts – onsite work or ramp installation – contact Lakewood Ranch Rotarian Terry Byce (terry.byce@verizon.net or 703627-7765) or Greg Kisella (text 850-585-1698 or gkiselaonm@gmail.com). Bob Feller, who spoke to our club in June, is still actively involved. ONM is sponsoring he annual Veterans Day Gala – this year's theme is “Volunteers-Our Unsung Heroes” – on Nov. 11 at the IMG Academy Golf Club. See the flier and online sign-up instructions by clicking here. Our Rotary club is a sponsor of the event. (This will be the night before our club's Suncoast Food & Wine Fest.) If you are able to attend or donate, please use the link provided. To learn more about ONM, visit the website by clicking here.
