Explore the connections between art and story, and how artists tell stories using objects, illustration, and books. Finding inspiration in the Roswell Museum collection, we will combine drawing, printmaking and imagination to create original visual stories. By the end of the week, you’ll be master storytellers! This class is scheduled so students can take along with Kids Clay: Story Bowl. Supplies provided.

Kids Clay: Sculpture/Portrait

Hand-build a bust (head and shoulders) out of clay coils of someone familiar to you. Using mirrors for reference, who do you think you’ll see? This class is scheduled so students can take along with MAXimize Yourself!. Supplies provided.

Students will create a portrait of themselves or a family member after the style of Pop/Psychedelic artist of the 1960s Peter Max. Bright, bold colors and clean black outlines are all the elements of the week. Please bring a printed photo of the person or pet who will be the subject of your portrait. This class is scheduled so students can take along with Kids Clay: Sculpture/Portrait. Supplies provided.
