€1.2m in extra funding for Boyle Library
A further €1.2m in funding was allocated for the Boyle Library project by Minister for Community and Rural Development Heather Humphreys last Thursday.
Originally the minister allocated €4,381,178 for the project, however following procurement tenders, Roscommon Co. Council sought a further €1.2m which has now been provided.
The Library for Boyle project is now costed at €6.9m when matching funding by Roscommon County Council is added.
Welcoming news of the extra funding, Deputy Frank Feighan described it as “a further economic and urban regeneration boost” for his home town.

Smithfield Fleadh returns to Smithfield Square this August!
Dublin City Council is delighted to announce the much-anticipated return of the two-day Irish traditional music festival, Dublin City Council Smithfield Fleadh, this August.
This free, family-friendly outdoor summer event will take place on the 26th and 27th August from 12 pm-6 pm at Smithfield Square, Dublin city centre’s largest dedicated event space. Building on last year’s success, the programme will showcase the vibrancy of traditional Irish music in modern Ireland with internationally recognised artists to grassroots artists.
