Success for local groups in Community Games events

The Community Games field events were held recently in Castlerea, and Ballaghaderreen had a very successful evening, with medals won in the ball throw, long puck and javelin categories.

In the U-12 ball throw events, Jennifer Connor won gold in the girls category, while Saleem Nazani and Aboudi Al Antouz won gold and bronze respectively in the boys category. In the U-14 girls long puck event, Saerlaith Dillon won silver, and in the U-14 boys javelin event, Zakaria Al Antouz won bronze.

First and second place winners will now progress to the Community Games National Finals on Saturday, August 26th, in Carlow. Best of luck to Jennifer, Saleem and Saerlaith at the National Finals.
