WHERE THE PERFORMING ARTS IN BRAMPTON COME TO LIFE. A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Dear Cherished Audience,

STEVEN SCHIPPER

C.M., O.M. EXECUTIVE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

What is truly important in life? Family and friends, the people we love – the ones who accept us for who we are.

What better shared experience than spending time seeing shows with our loved ones – shows that generate excitement and take us on a journey through a range of emotions? Brampton On Stage is a great way to create beautiful memories with family and friends. You won’t need to ask, “how was your day?” because you will know it was a special experience you cherished together. We are delighted to invite you to our January to May 2024 season and to the many shows offered in our exquisite venues, including our gorgeous, acoustically sublime, Rose Brampton. Our Staff and Volunteers always deliver a warm welcome and impeccable service. Affordable ticket prices and free parking make it easy. Too many great shows can sometimes make choices difficult, but in a good way, as you decide what to see. Here are a few suggestions: celebrated Canadian indie pop duo, Tegan and Sara; Bhangra & Beyond with our partners at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra; cirque with a twist with Humans 2.0 by Circa; plus join us for Sikh Heritage month to see Brampton-born poet and artist Rupi Kaur; join our good friend Jay Martin for his first performance on The Rose Mainstage; and close out the season with Canadian icon, Colin James. Wherever you are in the GTA or anywhere nearby in Ontario, please know you have friends in Brampton. Our venues are your venues. Our family always welcomes you with open arms and a wide smile. Yours sincerely,

Steven

ART BY YASMINA REZA PRESENTED BY THE HIVE APRIL 19, 20, 2024 / 8:00PM APRIL 20, 21, 2024 / 2:00PM Curtain up on a piece of modern art: A white painting. A white canvas, with white background. White lines. Bought for a huge sum of money. Recipient of the 1998 Tony Award® for Best Play, winner of the 1996 Olivier Award for Best Comedy and Molière Award for Best Author, Best Play and Best Production in 1994, ART is a dark comedy about 3 friends and a seemingly innocuous act that triggers a cascade of debates, arguments, and revelations about the nature of art, and the essence of friendship. Translated by Christopher Hampton and directed by Jimish Thakkar, THE HIVE PERFORMING ARTS presents another masterpiece filled with sharp humor and insightful dialogue, exploring the dynamics of human connection and the blurred lines between art and life... And if, in fact, the white painting is really... white.
