Moses Stands Up to Pharaoh

memory verse

No harm [comes] to the righteous. ~Proverbs 12:21

Moses is a Brave Man

(Exodus 3:1-4:17; 12:37-13:16)

The king, or pharaoh, of Egypt was a bad man. He made God’s people work hard as slaves and did not pay them. God told Moses to lead His people out of Egypt. Moses went to Pharaoh and demanded that he free God’s people. Pharaoh said, “No! I will not let them go!” So God made bad things happen. Time and time again Moses went to Pharaoh and said, “Let God’s people go!” Pharaoh was stubborn and refused to free the people. Ten bad things happened, until finally the worst thing of all happened. God caused all of the oldest boys to die. Even Pharaoh’s son died. But Moses’ people were kept safe because they obeyed God. So Pharaoh told Moses he could take his people and leave Egypt. Do you think Moses was brave to go before Pharaoh so many times?
