P.A.L.S. - PARENT AND LITTLE SKATER:

This class is designed for parents and new skaters to learn basic skills together. Some of the skills included are forward marching, twofoot glides, dips, and starting backward wiggles.

3’S/4’S CLASS:

This class is designed for 3 and 4 year olds who have no to little experience with ice skating. They will learn basic skills such as forward marching, two-foot glides, dips, and starting backward wiggles.

• 3’s/4’s Beginner class: This class is for 3 and 4 year olds who have very little to no ice skating experience.

• Skaters and/or parents must have ice skates to participate. No roller blades or other type of skate.

• Protective headgear is required in all classes. Bike helmets or lightweight hockey helmets are acceptable.

• Only skaters enrolled in the Learn to Skate program may be on the ice.

• Name Tags: All skaters should pick up their name tags as they enter the arena. Class time, class level and class color are on the tag. Skaters should skate to the corresponding color on the glass at their lesson time.

• Class Attire: Skaters should wear warm, comfortable clothing. Dress in layers so jackets and sweaters can be removed as the skaters warm up. Mittens or gloves are a must. No tight jeans as they restrict movement.

• Rental skates are not available. Please make sure your skate blades are sharp and your boots fit properly. No double-blade skates are allowed.

• 3’s/4’s Advanced class: This class is for 3 and 4 year olds who have some to minimal ice skating experience. They should know how to do the following skills: standing up on the ice, forward marching and some backwards skating.

SNOW PLOW SAM (4-7 YEARS OLD): There are four levels in this curriculum. Once all 4 levels are passed students will advance to Basic 3. This curriculum is designed to develop the preliminary coordination and strength necessary to move on skates.

• Snow Plow Sam 1: This class is designed for kids 4-7 years old who have no to minimal ice skating experience. They will learn the following basic skills: forward marching, glides, dips, and start backwards wiggles.

• Snow Plow Sam 2: This class is designed for kids 4-7 years old who have passed Snow Plow Sam 1. They will continue to practice skills learned in SPS 1 as well as learning new skills such as: backward wiggles, swizzles and beginning snow plow stop.

• Snow Plow Sam 3: This class is designed for kids 4-7 years old who have passed Snow Plow Sam 1 and 2. Skaters will continue practicing skills from the previous levels as well as learn new skills such as: one foot glides, forward and backward swizzles, etc.

• Snow Plow Sam 4: This class is designed for kids 4-7 years old who have passed Snow Plow Sam 1, 2, and 3. Skaters will continue practicing previously learned skills as well as new skills such as: backward two foot glide, backward swizzles, rocking horse, etc.
