You were born together and together you shall be for evermore. You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.Yes, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God. But let there be spaces in your togetherness. And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone. Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Stand together, yet not too near together, for the pillars of the temple stand apart. And the oak tree and cypress grow not in each other’s shadow. R

I saw a bird Upon a tree, I smiled at him He sang to me And said “Will you come today, Come with me and fly away Across the silent ocean wide, Over yawning mountainside? You will see the things that be, That thrill my heart And make me free.” I said, “I have things to do So I cannot fly with you,” He looked at me In a sad way And sang “You cannot fly today, Because you’re busy doing things, You will never fly on wings. You cannot soar above the sound, You belong on solid ground”. R
