REGIONAL EXPANSION GUIDE term 2013-2014

WHY REGIONAL EXPANSION?

MESSAGE FROM THE REGIONAL EXPANSION TEAM

When we hear of the Philippines, we think potential. This is the guiding principle of the Regional Expansion team. We want to explore, help and further build the potential of the Philippines by bringing and opening up the platform of AIESEC to regions where AIESEC is currently not present. Ultimately, we want the endless opportunities in AIESEC to be available to them as well. More than just opening an AIESEC entity in the region though, the team wants to ensure that these regions can implement AIESEC’s team and exchange programmes as a yardstick or a measure for sustainability. AIESEC’s impact, after all, is measured through how many experiences it is able to deliver and continuously deliver. All in all, we believe that through the innate potential of these regions and with the help of the AIESEC platform and its opportunities, we will build a better, stronger Philippines. To potential and impact, Regional Expansion Team

Initial Contact

③ ④ ⑤

This is initial research and study conducted by the Regional Expansion Team assessing the demographics, local economy, transportation and student markets of the region.

Initial contact can happen three ways: through an AIESEC alumnus connecting the team to the university/students, through the college administration itself or through interested students of the region.

Talent Recruitment University students interested in becoming Initiative Group members go through an application process and virtual or physical interview with the Regional Expansion team.

Market Research & Feasibility Study II The final research includes surveys conducted in the student market to gauge feasibility of running the programmes and endorsement letters from the university and external companies.

Regional Visit & Contract Signing The team will conduct a physical visit to conduct final orientation and induction to AIESEC as well as initial exchange trainings. Contract signed allows the Initiative Group to conduct operations.

Exchange Operations & Evaluation

Initiative Group Legislation

With support and guidance (through shadowing) from the team and AIESEC in the Philippines, exchange operations is conducted. Evaluations will be based on how effective the delivery is.

Once successful in conducting exchange operations, the team will recommend that the Initiative Group be legislated as official Initiative Group of AIESEC in the Philippines.

Year-End Assessment As a year-end assessment, the Initiative Group will be required to submit a year-end report highlighting activities throughout the year and recommendations for next year.

WHAT’S A REGIONAL VISIT LIKE? It is essentially a three to fourday physical visit to the region. The main objectives would vary based on the region. However, bare minimums include orientation to the WHY of AIESEC, induction to AIESEC and its operations, skills and functional trainings and general consultancy.

For questions & clarifications regarding the Expansion process, please contact the team immediately. Let’s bring the impact of AIESEC to your region!
