Head of Seleukos/Alexander right, wearing Attic helmet covered in panther skin and ornamented with bull’s horns and ears / BASILEWS SELEUKOU, Nike standing right, erecting trophy consisting of cuirass, helmet, shield and greaves set on pole, Boiotian shield between, I-E and monogram in outer fields. Hoover 20; SC 173.1. 17.05g. 28mm, 11h. Extremely Fine. A bold portrait of fine style, and an exceptionally well detailed and preserved reverse for the type.
