Rollan de By

Company presentation

“It has become one of the finest Cru Bourgeois estates.” “Proprietor Jean Guyon has been doing a terrific job with all of his estates in the northern Medoc, including Rollan de By, Tour Seran, Haut-Condissas and more recently, La Clare.” “One of the over-achieving Cru Bourgeois estates in the Medoc.”

Robert Parker

Domaines Rollan de By overview The interior decorator becomes winemaker

For years Jean Guyon excelled in decorating houses and palaces around the world. At the same time he developed a love for wine, especially wine from the Médoc. He began to wonder if he too could produce a great wine, so in 1989 he purchased Chateau Rollan de By (2ha) in the Northern Medoc.

From 2ha to 200ha... Domaines Rollan de By doubles its size with Chateau Greysac

From the beginning Chateau Rollan de By has been growing in size as has its reputation for making excellent wine. Since this first acquisition Jean

Guyon has also acquired several additional properties including: Chateau Haut Condissas (1995), Chateau Tour Seran (2000), Chateau La Clare (2001) and Chateau La Rose de By (2011). Most recently he has acquired Chateau Greysac, Chateau de By and Chateau du Monthil (2012).

One of the leading Cru Bourgeois producers

With about 1M bottles per year of Cru Bourgeois, Domaines Rollan de By has become one of the leaders in terms of production. It is also one of the

leaders in terms of quality, which is recognized around the world. Our 4 Cru Bourgeois are Ch. Rollan de By, Ch. Greysac, Ch. Tour Seran, and Ch. La Clare- all are AOC Médoc.

Domaines Rollan de By, great value wines producer

Robert Parker and Wine Spectator often describe our wines as being great values. Actually, in 2010 Rollan de By was the only Bordeaux selected in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 based on value. Rollan de By and Haut Condissas have gained solid reputations by over performing in blind tastings conducted by the prestigious Grand Jury Européen.

Up in the air! 6 Airlines Companies have recently served our wines

Every year since 2006, Chateau Rollan de By has been selected blind by Olivier Poussier, “The World’s Best Sommelier in 2000”, for Air France Business Class (Haut Condissas & Tour Seran have also been selected). Chateau Greysac is served in United Airline 1st Class (in 2013 & 2014)...

Rollan de By & the environment

The Domaines Rollan de By is sustainably farmed. All year long we do environment-friendly jobs: leaf-plucking & shoot thinning, green harvesting (one

grape per cane), laying a permanent or punctual vineyard cover crop, creating large canopy area to allow good aeration, sustainable treatments and amendments. The whole winery is also equipped with solar panel.

Hotel Rollan de By: Médoc boutique hôtel

Designer Jean Guyon, who graduated from the prestigious Ecole Boulle, has created a perfect balance of comfort, character and refinement. With its

location in the heart of the vineyards, the place is full of magic. The hotel philosophy is based on friendliness, while complying with the codes of a charming hotel combining authenticity, hospitality and quality. 2

Greysac has been selected by United Airline 1st Class in year 2013 and 2014. It has also recently been selected by Delta Airlines Business Class, Thai Airlines Silk, JAL (Japan Airlines), ANA (All Nippon Airways)

In 1974, Baron Francois de Gunzburg acquired it, soon merging with the Agnelli family (owner of Fiat & Ferrari and former co-owner of Chateau Margaux). Jean Guyon purchased this other jewel from the terroir of By in 2012. Robert Parker:
