Applications for importing your car or vehicle must be submitted and processed within 18 months of your arrival in New Zealand. You must have personally owned the car or vehicle within a period of 12 months in a country beyond the jurisdiction of NZ. Proof of ownership such as registration documents should be duly verified by authorised governing bodies before vehicles are shipped to designated NZ ports.
