Felly's "Waves" Documentary

By Sebastian Potter, Staff Writer

One month after his "Bones" music video release, Felly drops the documentary "Waves." The short film gives fans a behindthe-scenes look at the making of Young Fel 2, his latest indie/hip hop/alt-pop album. Young Fel 2 features 14 tracks full of energy, creativity, and variety. These songs demonstrate the evolution of Felly's songwriting and production.

The project's production has a variety of influences, including hip-hop, house, and folk-influenced songs. Some of the standout tracks include "Fresh Water," "Open Door," and "Black Van."

Scenes in the documentary include the making of these tracks, exciting interactions with Ultimate Fighting Championship star Jorge Masvidal, and musicians such as Dominic Fike, Landon Cube, and many other appearances - showcasing Felly in his real-life environment.

""Waves" is the quickest way to get to know me as a person and artist. It captures where my head has been the past 5-6 years, up until dropping my most recent album Young Fel 2. It goes in depth on the process of finding my sound, getting closer to myself and to my fans along the way. I feel like this doc is as important as the album - in terms of where I’ve been and where I’m heading...I’m a work in progress and always will be. There’s no destination here and that’s a good thing," said Felly.

Felly, a 26-year-old rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer from Connecticut, is signed to Same Plate Entertainment. He released his first EP in July 2016, Young Fel, a work which he honored in his latest album release, Young Fel 2.

Consistent themes are a big part of Felly's brand. The naming of his documentary "Waves" sticks with the motif of his 2015 mixtape, This Shit Comes in Waves.

Felly’s "Waves" documentary can be watched on his official YouTube page, "Felnuts." Keep up with Felly on TikTok and Twitter @FellyTheKid and on Instagram @Felly, and stream Young Fel 2 wherever music is available.
