Greetings From the GMIT Rectorate

We are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone event in GMIT’s history. Five years from its establishment, we are graduating our first class of engineers. Congratulations to the Class of 2018! This could not have happened without the contribution of so many: the leadership of two national governments who had the creativity and imagination to envision this university; the resources of the German and Mongolian development and business sectors; a committed staff; our talented an courageous students; and most importantly, the trust Mongolian parents placed in us. We are proud of what we have accomplished in such a short amount of time. But there is much more to be done as we enter our next 5 years of growth and development. This 5-Year Commemorative Anniversary Book is dedicated to the many people who have shared our vision and commitment to benefit Mongolia’s future in the most effective way we know how: by educating the next generation of leaders capable of succeeding in the world.

Congratulatory To My German and Mongolian Colleagues: Congratulations! In 5 short years you have begun to bring the concept of our partnership to fruition by starting to produce an improved and technologically well-trained workforce in the mineral resource sector, based on German academic expertise and our mutual cooperative efforts. In 2011, I had the honor of being the first German head of government to speak before the Mongolian Parliament. That occasion, in retrospect, seems prescient; I had spoken about the need for sustainable economic development, and how critical it would be to consider future generations by channeling our investment into activities such as education and infrastructure. Now you are celebrating the 5-year anniversary of the establishment of GMIT, and the graduation of your first class of engineers! I couldn’t be prouder of the vision we had, and commitment we both made, to establishing this university. I wish you every success and look forward to seeing what will be accomplished in the next five years! My Best Wishes,

Angela Merkel, Chancellor, Germany

Messages My Dear Colleagues in Mongolia and Germany: I was pleased to host German Chancellor Merkel when she visited Mongolia 7 years ago. It was then that we had the idea to create something lasting, for the benefit of Mongolia’s most precious resource of all: our future generations.

Ts. Elbegdorj, Former President, Mongolia

What better way to guarantee that, than to establish a new Mongolian university capable of utilizing Germany’s transfer of international expertise and standards. As a state-run research-based university, GMIT serves as a model for higher educational reform in Mongolia. At the same time, GMIT helps our country meet the growing need for specialists in our mineral resource sector. When I visited GMIT

Respectfully,

Congratulatory How to get this to her to write?
