“I
t all started with a reality show.” Generally nothing good can come after that quote, but in this case the result is delicious. Chef Seonkyoung Longest was an unlikely hero in the kitchen- having no culinary experience while battling semi-professional chefs on Food Network’s, “Restaurant Express.” She won, and her prize was to become Executive Chef of her own restaurant at The M Resort. Jayde Fuzion is the product of her hard work- a mix of Japanese, Korean and Chinese cuisine that will surprise and delight fans of any or all of those categories. For starters, an absolute must is their Korean Street Tacos. Featuring spicy beef and sriracha-lime sauce all wrapped up in scallion pancakes, these are a hit. Their Chinese Spiced Duck Sliders and Crab Salad are incredible appetizers as well. When it comes to entrées, that’s when it gets fun! Sushi, Thai, Chinese… they have it all. Honey Walnut Prawns are delicious, featuring enormous prawns dipped in tempura, along with candied walnuts and a wild honey drizzle. For more “kick”, try their Szechuan Pepper Crusted Filet Medallions with sake-plum wine butter. Their desserts are just as unique! Yuzu Doughnuts are indescribable; a must try. And their Green Tea Crème Brûlée is a great twist on a classic. Since the show aired and the restaurant opened, Chef Seonkyoung has moved on to other opportunities, but her menu has remained and expanded.
