HOW TO PUBLISH YOUR CA9 MULTI-GENRE RESEARCH PROJECT

Complete the following steps to publish your MGRP. Be sure to read EACH step thoroughly before moving on to the next step.

Step 1: Before you can publish you project, you must first change it to a .pdf format so that it is compatible. With your project up on the screen, go up to file and select export. A drop down menu will then appear asking you to choose the best quality for your project to be published. The document should automatically set itself to PDF format and as the Best image quality. If it doesn’t, be sure to change it. Once PDF and Best are selected, click Next. Another drop down menu will appear telling you to save your project. Save your project as your first and last name and hour (Ex: John Smith, 1R). Next to where, select Desktop, then click Export.

Step 2: Go to www.issuu.com Step 3: Once here, click on Create account in the upper right corner. This will take you to your account set-up page. Fill in the account information. Your profile name can be whatever you’d like but remember, this is your digital footprint that is out there for all to see, so make sure you choose something appropriate. Under Age, select 18. At the bottom, check mark next to I accept the Terms of Service, and uncheck I may receive news about Issuu..., then click Agree and continue. You will then be taken to a screen tells you an email has been sent to you and to get into your email to verify it.

Step 4: Open a new tab and get into your email account that you created your issuu account with. Find the email from issuu (it might be in your spam if you can’t find it in your inbox), and open it. Once in the email, click where it says Join Issuu. This will then take you back to the website where you will need to click on verify account. The next page you are sent to will ask you to find people you know. Go to the very bottom of the page and select skip this step. You will then be taken to a page where it will give you a quick tour of the website features. Scroll to the very bottom of the screen and click on Done, now take me to my home.

Step 5: Now that you have everything set up, you are ready to publish your project. At the top right corner select Upload. This will take you to the upload page. Fill in the arrows marked by the arrows below. First, click Browse and select your project piece. In the Title section type MGRP. Under Description type Multi-genre research project. Web name will already be filled out for you.

For Keywords type in research, project. Leave the Info Link section blank. Under Type select Presentation. Skip down to Category and select Other, for Language select English, and for Target area select The World. Once you have filled in all the appropriate sections, scroll down to the bottom and click Upload file. Your project will now begin uploading. Stay on the screen until it has been completely the upload is complete.

Step 6: One the upload is complete you will be taken to a page where you can advertise your publication. Select No thanks. Go to My Library. This will take you to your personal library where your publication will be shown on a bookshelf. Highlight your publication by clicking on it. (A blue border should appear around it.) Look at the icons above the bookshelf and click on Share. A window will pop up for you to type in who you are sharing with. In the Share with section, type briana.michaud@gmail.com, and in the Message section type your first and last name and hour (Ex: John Smith, 1R). Then click Send email. YOU’RE FINISHED!!!!!!
