O
ur philosophy is very simple and that is to work as a platform to support artists of all types to bring them to a wider audiences but along with this it is to bring the skills and abilities we’ve learned to other people who want to learn them. To do this we travel to festivals and events and set up our gallery and workshop space. Our gallery isn’t a cold sterile place, which too often galleries are, but a working space with artists working on projects and teaching workshops all in one area. We believe art comes in many forms, and our collective boasts painters, sculptors, installation artists, photographers, musicians, tailors, graphic designers, set designers and poets with new skills always welcome. Together we form a travelling art gallery. We run our own poetry and art submissions publication, which brings us a very high quality of international and UK work from published and non published poets along with artists from the gallery and further afield. We are running our first market on December 4th in Canterbury, this will be a place with a variety of stalls from within Social-i as well as independent traders and people we have worked with over the last few years. This will be mainly an art and craft fair but we will also be having other stalls such as brik a brak and record stalls.
