2014: A year of opportunity with Scania ‘second generation’ Euro 6 John Marks, Managing Director of Road Trucks Limited, says 2014 is a year of opportunity for his company and its customers; we hear from two such customers who explain why Scania remains the preferred choice for them. and MOT preparation. We chose Scania because we consider it to be a prestigious brand with the best reliability and network support for our business operation.

Scania’s new Streamline Euro 6 range

“We use Road Trucks because of the level of support they give coupled with the excellent level of experience and product knowledge in everything they do. As a family run business Road Trucks displays family standards. You’re not just a number to them, the team there are really easy to deal with and very supportive.” William has already purchased two new Streamline V8 tractor units from the same salesman nearly twenty years later! “The interior improvements are great and the comfort in the seating is really improved. The lighting upgrades give a fresh smart look.” With 20% business growth in 2013, William is planning further investment for 2014 and is confident that Road Trucks and Scania will feature in his plans. John tells Export and Freight that it is a well established fact that Scania is a premium brand and its reputation remains as high today as it was 50 years ago when Scania expanded operations into the UK market. “Scania’s reputation and consistently high market share gives us a substantial edge over the competition,” he says. And he adds: “The Scania Brand is gaining even more momentum following the recent announcement that Eddie Stobart and AW Jenkinson have signed a joint-procurement agreement which will see 1,500 Scania Euro 6 vehicles introduced to the two fleets during 2014 and 2015. “Scania recorded its biggest ever registration volume in the UK market in 2013 and has over 5,000 Euro 6 vehicles already in service throughout Europe; hence the label ‘second generation Euro 6.’

What more evidence is required to consider Scania in 2014?” So, we can see that the ‘big picture’ looks good for Scania in Europe and the UK, but what about the local picture? Well, John is also buoyant about what 2014 promises for Road Trucks and its customers in Northern Ireland. He says this optimism is founded on the following benefits: • Scania brand moving forward with ‘second generation’ Euro 6 • Scania technology with Opticruise & Active Prediction cruise control • Road Trucks extended opening hours provide convenient & efficient service & repairs • Strategically placed service depots in Larne and Omagh • Full Pet Reg and Safe Loading Pass services at Omagh site • New 12-month used vehicle warranty with Euro cover for qualifying Scania vehicles
