1. We were dead. You were dead in your trespasses and sins... [Ephesians 2:1]

2. Christ has made us alive. God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! [Ephesians 2:4-5]

3. Christ calls us to take off our grave clothes. You were taught with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires‌ and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. [Ephesians 4:22-24]

HAPPY EASTER! We are so glad you're here. The story of Easter brings to life the truth that Jesus came to this world to overcome sin and death. Today we celebrate that the life-changing power of His resurrection is available to all who receive His love. Whether you're here for the first time or call Mariners home, I hope you'll leave with a deeper understanding of God's incredible love for you. In Christ, Eric Geiger

EA S T E R 2019 Then Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother wouldn’t have died. Yet even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” “Your brother will rise again,” Jesus told her. Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me, even if he dies, will live. Everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” “Yes, Lord,” she told him, “I believe you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who comes into the world.” [John 11:21-27] Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. “Remove the stone,” Jesus said. Martha, the dead man’s sister, told him, “Lord, there is already a stench because he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you heard me. I know that you always hear me, but because of the crowd standing here I said this, so that they may believe you sent me.” After he said this, he shouted with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out bound hand and foot with linen strips and with his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him go.” [John 11:38-44]

A STORY OF TRANSFORMATION Otto’s father was verbally and physically abusive to him, and left his family when he was 6. Otto tried to be a better man for his family, but his unresolved pain drove him to alcoholism & neglect. After 11 difficult years of marriage, his wife asked him to go to Mariners with her. “My shame told me that I wasn’t good enough to go here," Otto said. "But as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by two people who were so glad to see us as if we were family, and that brushed all the shame away.” After feeling the warmth of the church community he allowed Jesus to heal his pain, received a new purpose and set a brand new direction full of love, hope and care for his family.
