LYRICS & TR ANSL ATIONS | SHIRU Sing a new song Sing, shout all the earth Break forth, sing aloud, and play music Shout all the earth Sing all the earth Sing a new song Let Let Let Let

the the the the

heavens rejoice earth be glad sea roar, and all that fills it field exult, and all that is in it

Let the trees of the forest sing for joy Let the rivers clap hands Let the mountains sing for joy Sing a new song Sing, shout all the earth Sing a new song; SING! | THE LITTLE CREEK Come with me to the little creek Where my thoughts are running free. They might run swift or they might run deep, But these waters wind their way through me. When we reach the hill, we’ll follow it down. Cross the rough and rocky ground. Get a little bit lost and a little bit found, But it evens out when we hear that sounds. Why are we so scared to search our centers? It may seem so, but every door you enter, You find a piece of something inside you never knew. Keep moving through. You’ve got your pain, I’ve got mine. It’s hard to say it’ll workout fine. But we can share the load when we share a sigh At the creek our dreams are by design It flows in you, and it flows in me. Some days you will find it. Some days it’s hard to see.

| THE LITTLE CREEK (CONTINUED) There’s twist and there’s turns and there’s lessons to learn by the creek. Take a breath and think. Please don’t be so scared to search your center. Let those seeds grow ‘cause every door you enter, You find a piece of something inside you never knew.Keep moving through. Believe it’s true. I know that you will keep moving through. Make a little change at the little creek. | A SPOTLESS ROSE (PAUL MEALOR) A Spotless Rose is growing, Sprung from a tender root, Of ancient seers’ foreshowing, Of Jesse promised fruit; Its fairest bud unfolds to light Amid the cold, cold winter, And the dark midnight. The Rose which I am singing, Whereof Isiah said,Is from its sweet root springingIn Mary, purest Maid; Through God’s great love and might, The Blessed Babe she bare us In a cold, cold winter’s night. | THE RUNE OF HOSPITALITY I saw a stranger yestereen; I put food in the eating place, Drink in the drinking place, Music in the listening place; And in the sacred names of the Triune He blessed me and my house, My cattle and my dear ones. And the lark said in her song Often, often, often. Goes the Christ in the stranger’s guise.

| O MAGNUM MYSTERIUM (MORTEN LAURIDSEN) O magnum mysterium, et admirabile sacramentum ut animalia viderent Dominum natum, jacentem in praesepio! Beata Virgo, cujus viscera meruerunt portare Dominum Christum. Alleluia! O great mystery, and wondrous sacrament, that animals should see the newborn Lord, lying in their manger! Blessed is the Virgin whose womb was worthy to bear our Lord Christ. Alleluia! | CAROL OF THE CHILDREN One for the star in the sky over Bethlehem; Two for the hands that will rock him to sleep. Three for the kings bringing gold, myrrh, incense. Four for the angels that watch over his bedside. Blue for the robe of the sweet Virgin Mary; White for the dawn of the first Christmas Day; Red for the blood that he shed for us all on Good Friday; Black for the tomb where he rested till Easter. Lullaby! See Jesus asleep. Angels and shepherds their watch on him keep. Lullaby! He soon will awake, For the oxen are stirring and morning will break. And one for the heart that I give as my offering to Jesus.

| NOS GALAN Hear the bells on Christmas morning, Ring out joyfully, Christ is born. Children, set your voices singing, Sing out joyfully, Christ is born. Look with love on one another, Sing out joyfully, Christ is born. Strangers greet as sisters, brothers, Sing out joyfully, Christ is born. Beat the drum and strike the cymbal, Sing out joyfully, Christ is born. Fingers on the harp be nimble, Sing out joyfully, Christ is born. On this day put care behind you, Sing out joyfully, Christ is born. Let the joy of Christmas find you, Sing out joyfully, Christ is born. Deck the hall (the traditional carol is sung here) Who is this who stops beside you, Poor and broken and forlorn? Loving kindness gently guide you, You know well why Christ was born. May the new year sorrow banish, You know well why Christ was born May all war and hatred vanish, You know well why Christ was born.

| ELEGY Day is done, gone the sun; From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky. All is well, safely rest: God is nigh. Fading light dims the sight and a star gems the sky, gleaming bright. From afar, drawing nigh; Falls the night.

Thanks to the Christmas Offering Planning Team: Teresa Bowers, Gerald Christianson, Wayne Hill, and Mark Oldenburg.

Thanks and praise for our days; Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky. As we go, this we know; God is nigh.

Oh, let me nestle near thee, within thy downy breast where I will find sweet comfort and peace within thy nest.
