Robert Morris (2-5 / 1-3) @ Wagner (4-3 / 4-1) Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Wagner College Stadium (3,300) - Staten Island, N.Y.

Radio: WPIT-AM 730 (Chris Shovlin - play-by-play & Spencer Kowitz - color) Live Video on the internet at: www.necfrontrow.com Top Story - The Robert Morris University football team will play its third road game in four weeks this Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1:00 p.m. as the Colonials take on Wagner at Wagner College Stadium. RMU is coming off of a thrilling, come-from-behind, 37-31, victory over Central Connecticut State last week as the Colonials rallied from an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit to claim the win. RMU has rushed for at least 170 yards in each of its past four games. Senior Nolan Nearhoof was named as one of 15 National Football Foundation (NFF) scholar-athletes across all divisions of college football earlier this week and earned an $18,000 scholarship for postgraduate studies. Marcelis Branch earned his third Northeast Conference (NEC) weekly honor this past Monday when he was selected as the league’s Rookie of the Week after his interception against the Blue Devils directly led to the game-winning score. RMU will be searching for its fourth straight win at Wagner. After facing the Seahawks, Robert Morris will return home to take on local rival Duquesne Nov. 3 in a game that can be seen live on ESPN3 and Root Sports. Quick Stat of the Afternoon - After another strong dual-threat performance in last Saturday’s win over CCSU, Jeff Sinclair is threatening a notable single-season school record. Sinclair is averaging 223.4 yards of total offense per game thus far in 2012, a figure that would current rank second in RMU history and is fewer than five yards shy of Tim Levcik’s (1998-2001) record of 228.2. Sinclair has topped 250 yards of total offense three times this season, including each of the past two games. That marked the second time in Sinclair’s career that he has tallied at least 250 total offense yards in back-to-back games. The only other time came Sept. 11 and Sept. 18, 2010 when Sinclair posted 266 @ Sacred Heart and 253 vs. Liberty. Coincidentally, Sinclair’s next game after that 2010 stretch also occurred at Wagner--just like 2012. He fell just short of 250 in that game as he notched 244 yards of total offense while throwing four touchdowns. Saturday’s Opponent - Wagner is one of just three opponents Robert Morris faced in each of the first 18 years the Colonials fielded an intercollegiate program, joining fellow NEC foes Central Connecticut State and Saint Francis. All-time the Colonials are 12-6 (.667) against the Seahawks, and RMU has won each of the past three games on Staten Island, including the past two by a combined 53 points. RMU posted a 30-9 win the last time it traveled to Wagner as Jeff Sinclair set a career high with four touchdown passes. For more information on the all-time series against Wagner, including the last game recap, please see page four of today’s game notes. On This Date (Oct. 27) in Robert Morris Football History - Robert Morris has only played once before on October 27, and incidentally that game also came against Wagner in 2001. Additionally, both teams are entering the 2012 meeting having produced the exact same result one week prior as they did in 2001 as RMU is coming off a win over CCSU and Wagner beat Saint Francis last week. The Colonials jumped out to a 28-17 lead in that 2001 meeting, as the teams combined for 36 second-quarter points, and then put the game away by scoring the first three touchdowns of the second half to cruise to victory. Robert Morris scored seven touchdowns overall, tied for the second-highest in single-game history. Tim Levcik (1998-2001) led the effort as he was 25-of-41 for 277 yards and tossed five touchdown passes. Joe Austin (1999-2001) returned an interception 30 yards and also recovered a fumble as the Colonials forced four turnovers on the day. Reggie Chambers (1998-2001) added 11 tackles and an interception to help ensure a victory.

2012 Robert Morris Football Game Notes @ Wagner (10/27/12) - Page 3

Head Coach Joe Walton 19th Season - Pittsburgh ’57 At the forefront of the football renaissance at Robert Morris University throughout its 19-year history is Joe Walton, who has built the Colonials from a fledgling program into one of the top Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams in the region. The one constant associated with the program, Walton was named the first head coach July 27, 1993. He started the program from scratch, completing everything from hiring assistant coaches to purchasing equipment to recruiting student-athletes for the team’s inaugural season in 1994. Walton’s fingerprints are all over the football program, and to prove that, RMU has played its home games since 2005 in a stadium that bears his name. During his tenure, Walton has led Robert Morris to the first Northeast Conference championship in 1996, guided RMU to a perfect 10-0 season in 2000 and in 2010 helped lead the Colonials to the NEC’s inaugural bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs with their league-high sixth regular-season championship. “It’s hard to believe,” Walton speaks on how fast time has elapsed. “I’ve said this many times before, and I mean it when I say that this situation is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my life. It happened at the right time. Before this position became available, I felt I was too young to quit coaching, but I wasn’t anxious to get back into pro football. When this came along, it was the perfect fit. This situation was the perfect opportunity for me to continue to do what I like to do, and I’ve loved every minute of it.” Under Walton’s tutelage, the Colonials have claimed outright NEC regular-season titles three times (1997, 1999, 2000) while sharing three others (1996, 1998, 2010). Walton led Robert Morris to back-to-back ECAC Bowl victories in 1996 and 1997, and in 1999 and 2000 he guided RMU to a pair of NCAA I-AA mid-major national crowns according to Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette. In 2010, Walton added to his legacy by engineering the Colonials on an eightgame winning streak for a share of the NEC regular-season title and the NEC’s first bid in the NCAA FCS Playoffs. In the process he picked up his 100th career victory in the collegiate ranks.

Last RMU Game vs. Wagner Game #10 Wagner 38, Robert Morris 17 November 12, 2011 / Moon Township, Pa. Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 2,237) - Dominique Williams ran for 216 yards and four touchdowns as Wagner sent Robert Morris to its fifth straight loss, 38-17. Williams produced touchdown runs of one, two, five and 56 yards in the victory for the Seahawks and averaged 6.8 yards per rush. His two-yard touchdown plunge at the 6:41 mark of the first quarter capped a 16-play drive to open the game and give Wagner an early 7-0 lead. The Seahawks expanded their advantage to 14-0 when Williams hit paydirt from five yards out to cap a six-play, 36-yard drive. Junior kicker Greg Langer helped RMU get on the board with a 37-yard field goal at the 3:38 mark of the second quarter, but Williams' third touchdown run of the first half, this time for 56 yards, helped Wagner take a 21-3 lead. Mark Mangion would give the Seahawks a comfortable 24-3 lead at halftime by connecting for a 29-yard field goal as time expired in the second quarter. After a scoreless third quarter, quarterback Tyler Forbes connected with senior wide receiver Jamie Cobb for a 38-yard touchdown pass to trim RMU's deficit to 24-10 with 14:05 to play. Wagner went three-and-out on its next possession, but the Colonials couldn't take advantage, as Jeremiah Brown intercepted Forbes at the Wagner 35-yard drive to stall a Robert Morris drive. The Seahawks again went three-and-out, but on the next RMU possession Forbes was sacked by C.O. Prime and fumbled. The loose ball was picked up by defensive lineman Quintin Anderson, who scampered 48 yards to the end zone for the touchdown and a 31-10 Wagner lead. Two touchdowns were scored in the last six minues, as redshirt freshman Deontae Howard scored from a yard out with 5:49 remaining to trim RMU's deficit to 31-17, and Williams added his fourth touchdown run of the day, this time from a yard out, to settle the score at 38-17. The big play came when Williams broke outside and raced 79 yards down to the RMU six-yard line before being tackled. Wagner finished the day with nine tackles for losses that totaled 34 yards, including four sacks, and also forced three Robert Morris turnovers. Freshman quarterback Matt Layman, making his first collegiate start, finished 6-for-16 passing for 70 yards before being knocked out in the third quarter. Forbes finished the day under center for the Colonials, completing 10 of his 21 passing attempts for 140 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Senior linebacker Jon Krepps recorded a game-high 13 tackles, while junior linebacker Kyle Cooper and sophomore defensive lineman Chris Thompkins each recorded nine takedowns. True freshman Marcelis Branch notched an interception that directly led to the game-winning score, tallied three pass breakups, including two during CCSU’s final drive, and added six tackles … RMU was 2-for-2 on fourth down ... RMU improved to 14-5 all-time against CCSU. Triple Digits - Junior Evan Taylor has raised his level over the past four games as he looks to develop into a top-tier running back. Taylor had the most productive day of his young offensive career Oct. 6 at Saint Francis as he carried 25 times for a career-high 133 yards. Then Oct. 13 at Bryant, Taylor topped the century mark again, scampering for 105 yards on 18 attempts. He made it three straight as he ran for 126 yards on 20 carries against CCSU last week. In fact, Taylor was just six yards short of reaching the 100-yard rushing plateau in four straight games as he posted 94 in the Homecoming victory over Lafayette. On his last 78 rushing attempts, Taylor has rushed for 457 yards, an average of more than 5.8 yards per carry. Sack Attack - RMU defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof had a memorable day Oct. 13 at Bryant as he broke RMU’s all-time program record for career sacks. Nearhoof tied his single-game high with three and, in the process, became the first Colonial ever to surpass 20 sacks and currently has 22.5. Ray Gensler (2003-06) previously held the record with 19. Nearhoof claimed his second-consecutive All-NEC First Team honor in 2011 despite missing two games due to injury. In doing so, Nearhoof became just the third player in the league, on offense or defense, to earn an all-conference first team award in both 2010 and 2011. In addition to topping the program in sacks, Nearhoof currently ranks as RMU's active leader in tackles (186) and tackles for loss (29.5). Nearhoof is tied for the NEC lead in sacks per game and is tied for ninth nationally. Winner, Winner - Senior quarterback Jeff Sinclair led both the game-tying and gamewinning drives last Saturday against CCSU to rally RMU to a comeback victory. In doing so, Sinclair tied the Colonials’ program record for most game-winning drives in the fourth quarter (or overtime) of a career with five. Erik Cwalinski (2005-08) also has five such drives. Additionally, Cwalinski and Sinclair are the only two Colonials to lead Robert Morris on a game-winning drive in at least three different years. 400x2 - RMU posted a season-high 412 yards of total offense in last week’s 37-31 win over CCSU, marking the second-consecutive game that the Colonials topped 400 in that category. The past two weeks mark just the fourth time since the turn of the century that RMU has posted 400+ yards of total offense in back-to-back NEC games. Amazingly, the 1999 squad had five straight NEC games with 400+ yards of total offense. First Scores - Ryan Thermil opened the scoring last week against CCSU with his firstcareer touchdown. Thermil’s inaugural score came one week after fellow fullback Nick Groat and linebacker Brad Banas each notched their first-career touchdowns. Experience Counts - When taking a look down the Robert Morris roster, the Colonials seem to have a bevy of experience at the defensive line position. Defensive linemen R.J. Cook, Farren Mason, Sam Miller, Steve Mitchell, Nolan Nearhoof and Chris Thompkins have combined for 104 starts during their time at RMU. Due to injuries, each member of the sextet saw starting assignments during the 2011 season. Mitchell and Nearhoof lead the way with 29 starts each followed by Miller with 25, although the first 22 of Miller's career actually came when he was a member of the offensive line. Mason is next in line, having earned the nod 16 times in his career. Start Me Up - Steve Mitchell enters Saturday’s game with the most consecutive starting assignments of any active Colonial. Mitchell has started 29 straight games at defensive end. A.J. Dalton is second in that category with 24 straight starts on the offensive line. Jeff Sinclair is the Colonials’ active leader in overall starts with 32.

2012 Robert Morris Football Game Notes @ Wagner (10/27/12) - Page 6 Team Defense - The Robert Morris defense has had no trouble finding different players to step up each week as eight distinct Colonials have led (or tied for the lead) the squad in tackles in a single game this season. Cameron Chadwick posted a game-high 12 tackles at defending national champion North Dakota State (9/1), Brad Banas and Mike Neilson each tallied 10 against defending NEC champion Albany (9/8), Mike Cook registered a game-high 11 stops @ Dayton (9/15), Marcelis Branch notched a team season-best 15 vs. Lafayette (9/29), Mark Centofanti topped the chart @ Saint Francis (10/6) with 10 tackles, D.J. Myers led the Colonials with eight hits @ Bryant (10/13) and Mike Cook and Nolan Nearhoof tied for the lead with 11 last week against Central Connecticut State. Langer's Leg - Greg Langer knocked through his first career game-winning field goal in the Sept. 29 win over Lafayette. He also converted a career-long 49-yard field goal vs. Albany Sept. 8. Langer has made 12 of his last 13 field goals, including eight straight from more than 35 yards. Run Forrest Run - The RMU offense has been chewing up chunks of yardage on the ground over the team’s past four games as they have piled up 751 rushing yards, including tallying at least 170 in each of those outings. The past four games represents just the second time since 2001 in which RMU has rushed for at least 170 yards in four (or more) consecutive games with the other streak happening in 2010. Also, RMU’s 197 rushing yards at Bryant Oct. 13 was its best such road total in over six years. Foot Joy - One of the most important aspects that senior Jeff Sinclair brings to the quarterback position at Robert Morris is his versatility. In a 38-35 setback @ Bryant Oct. 13, Sinclair rushed for a 2-yard touchdown on a naked bootleg in the third quarter that gave the Colonials a 21-16 lead. In 32 career games, Sinclair has already rushed for 16 touchdowns. To put that in perspective, prior to Sinclair becoming the starter under center at RMU, quarterbacks combined for 16 rushing touchdowns in the first 156 games of the program’s history. Century Mark - Junior wide receiver Donte Jeter posted 103 receiving yards and a career-best two receptions for touchdowns as he topped 100 receiving yards for the third time this season last Saturday against Central Connecticut State. With that effort, Jeter became the first opposing player to post at least 100 receiving yards against the Blue Devils since former Colonial Shadrae King (2008-11) accomplished the feat in 2009. Jeter also topped the 100-mark @ Dayton and vs. Lafayette, when he notched a career-best 131 yards.

Last RMU Game Game #7 • Robert Morris 37, Central Connecticut State 31 October 20, 2012 • Moon Township, Pa. Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 1,020) - Deontae Howard ran for a 2-yard touchdown with just 1:50 left to lift Robert Morris to a comefrom-behind, 37-31, victory over Central Connecticut State. The Blue Devils were able to drive to the RMU 13-yard line on their final possession, but the Colonial defense held its ground and did not allow CCSU any more positive yards once it had reached the red zone. Senior Jeff Sinclair threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 54 on the ground, accumulating 268 yards of total offense and led RMU on both its game-tying and game-winning drives. After forcing a quick punt to open the game, RMU opened the scoring with a 5-play drive, which was capped off by a 1-yard touchdown run by Ryan Thermil, the first of the sophomore’s career. Rob Hollomon broke free for a 73-yard run, setting up CCSU's opening touchdown that tied the game early in the second quarter. RMU responded immediately, though, as it drove 75 yards on seven plays, aided by 36 rushing yards from Evan Taylor, and Thermil once again punched the ball across the goal line. Central Connecticut State tied the game on its ensuing drive on a 75-yard touchdown pass as Matthew Tyrell crossed the goal line, bringing the score to 14-14, where it remained until halftime. RMU drove 44 yards after receiving the second-half kickoff to set up a 38-yard field goal which senior Greg Langer converted. The Colonials increased their lead when Sinclair found Donte Jeter down the center of the field for a 57-yard touchdown strike. The scoring continued on the following play as the Blue Devils returned the kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown to cut their deficit to 23-21. CCSU made another key special teams play later in the third quarter when they blocked a punt and returned it to the RMU 25-yard line, setting up a six-yard TD run to take a 28-23 lead. CCSU would add to its lead on its next drive, but the RMU defense did well to limit the damage. RMU held the Blue Devils three straight times in the red zone to force a 24-yard field goal that was successful. RMU would take over the ball, trailing by eight, with just over six minutes remaining and quickly tied the proceedings. The Colonials hit the end zone on just two plays as Sinclair found Jeter for a 27-yard touchdown. Then on the point after attempt, Sinclair found Howard with a pass as the junior made a diving grab to snatch the ball. On the Blue Devils’ next drive, Marcelis Branch registered an interception that gave RMU the ball on CCSU'S 38-yard line, setting up the game-winning drive.

Any Given Saturday - Entering Saturday’s contest against Wagner, there are two Colonials who would have pretty good odds of seeing the field, judging solely by their past histories. Redshirt seniors Sanchez Faugue and Sam Miller have each appeared in 40 games in their RMU careers, tops among active players. Faugue has the distinction of competing in each of the past 40 Score By Quarters contests while Miller missed the 2010 season, but played in every game in Central Connecticut State 2008, 2009 and 2011. Senior Steve Mitchell is in hot pursuit of this duo as he Robert Morris has seen the field in 39 games in his career, including 31 straight contests. Fresh Faces - As with any other year, the first half of the 2012 season has featured the first collegiate appearances for some newer Colonials. A total of 11 Colonials have made their first career starts thus far this season. Among the 11 are a pair of true freshmen who have combined for 11 starts thus far as Max Robertson has started at left guard and Marcelis Branch at cornerback. Robertson and Branch were the second offensive lineman and cornerback, respectively, to make their first-career start in 2012, joining sophomore center Nick Faraci and sophomore cornerback Zach Washington. In total, 16 Colonials have competed in a RMU uniform for the first time this season.

2012 Robert Morris Football Game Notes @ Wagner (10/27/12) - Page 7 Making the Grade - Defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Second Team this past November, becoming only the second student-athlete in program history to earn two CoSIDA Academic All-American honors. Nearhoof had previously become the third player in program history to be named to the ESPN Academic All-America Team in 2010 when he earned second team accolades. Nearhoof owns a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.74 as a biology major and joined former Colonials Jonathan LeDonne (2001-04) and Ray Gensler (2003-06) to earn the honor. LeDonne, a linebacker, was named to the 2004 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team, while Gensler, a defensive lineman, was a two-time honoree, earning second team accolades in 2005 and first team honors in 2006. Nearhoof was also named as the NEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second-consecutive year. He was the fourth player in program history to claim that honor but the first to ever win it twice. Climbing the Charts - Robert Morris senior quarterback Jeff Sinclair is climbing the RMU record book in multiple categories as he concludes his career in 2012. With his two touchdown passes Oct. 20, Sinclair moved into sole possession of second place in career touchdowns responsible for at Robert Morris with 66. Tim Levcik (1998-2001) holds the all-time RMU record in that category with 81. Sinclair is also third in career total offense (5,777), fourth in career touchdown passes (50) and fifth in career completions (388) and career passing yards (5,034) at RMU. His total offense per game average of 180.5 is second all-time at RMU, trailing only Levcik’s top mark of 191.4. Despite being a quarterback, Sinclair actually is fifth in career rushing touchdowns at Robert Morris (16) and moved into the top 10 in career rushing yards with his 84-yard performance against Lafayette. Mighty Marcelis - Marcelis Branch was named as the NEC’s Rookie of the Week this past Monday. This award marks the third NEC weekly accolade that Branch has garnered in the past month as he was selected as both the NEC Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week Oct. 1 after forcing two turnovers and contributing 15 tackles to help the Colonials to a win over previously undefeated Lafayette. This recognition made Branch the seventh Colonial in program history to earn multiple NEC Rookie of the Week honors. In addition, Branch became the first NEC student-athlete on the defensive side of the ball to earn multiple Rookie of the Week honors in the same season since 2008. Branch had a large impact on last week’s game as he posted six tackles, four solo, and forced a Blue Devil turnover by making a jumping interception. He also added three pass breakups, tied for the fourth most in RMU single-game history. Regulation Only - Entering Saturday’s game against Wagner, Robert Morris will have gone 65 consecutive games without having a contest go into overtime. That is the longest such streak in program history since the NCAA instituted overtime in college football for the 1996 season. In fact, every other current member of the NEC has played at least one overtime game since RMU’s last such contest. The last time the Colonials headed to overtime was Oct. 14, 2006 when RMU upset No. 19 Central Connecticut State, 23-17 (2OT), in what was the program’s first-ever game against a nationally ranked opponent. After Jacky Candy (2006) intercepted a Blue Devil pass right near the goal line in the second extra session, Erik Cwalinski (2005-08) hooked up with Mario Hines (2004, 2006-07) for a game-winning 14-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-12. That contest against the Blue Devils remains the only home game in RMU history to go into overtime. For Starters - When Robert Morris took the field Oct. 20 against CCSU, it sported its seventh starting lineup on offense in its seventh game. However, if 2011 was any indication, RMU fans shouldn’t be surprised. Due to a number of injuries as well as changes with the depth chart, Robert Morris used nine different starting lineups on offense last season and has used 17 different starting combinations in its last 19 games. The starters actually stayed the same for three straight weeks in October 2011, but RMU had changes in its lineup from one week to the next throughout the early and late parts of the campaign. The Colonials were forced into starting three different quarterbacks and also had five different tailbacks/fullbacks start a game in 2011. The only returning Colonial on offense who started every game in 2011 is lineman A.J. Dalton.

Head Coach-In-Waiting John Banaszak

Team

Robert Morris University Director of Athletics Craig Coleman, M.D., announced this past January that RMU Assistant Head Football Coach John Banaszak has been named the program's coach-in-waiting. Banaszak, who has spent the last nine years as an assistant coach and assistant head coach with the Colonials, will take over for current head coach Joe Walton at the conclusion of the 2013 season. "Coach Walton has done a tremendous job starting the program from scratch and developing it to its current level," Coleman said. "We are blessed to have another outstanding coach on our staff in Coach Banaszak to provide leadership and excellence when Walton retires." The 2011 season marked Banaszak's ninth season as a member of the Robert Morris football coach staff, including his fourth campaign as assistant head coach. Among his many duties with the program, Banaszak is responsible for tutoring the defensive line and the special teams unit. During Banaszak's time at Robert Morris, the Colonials have led the Northeast Conference in total defense four times (2004, 2006, 2009 and 2010) and have finished in the top five in the league on eight occasions. Banaszak was a key component to a 2010 defense that led the NEC in total defense, allowing an average of 312.6 yards per game, and coaching a defensive line that recorded 13 of RMU's 21 sacks as the Colonials claimed the NEC's inaugural berth in the FCS Playoffs. In 2006, Banaszak helped tutor an RMU defense that led I-AA in total defense, allowing an average of just 228.36 yards per game. Under Banaszak's guidance, former defensive lineman Ray Gensler (2003-06) tied the RMU single-season school record for sacks with 11 in 2006 en route to earning All-NEC First Team honors. Gensler also established a career record in sacks with 19 thanks to 11 in 2006, and the Robert Morris defensive line that season recorded 28 and-a-half of RMU's school record 34 sacks. Eight of the 11 players in school history to earn All-NEC recognition on the defensive line have come under the tutelage of Banaszak, including Nolan Nearhoof, who led the Colonials with seven and-a-half sacks last year en route to being named to the 2011 All-NEC First Team. Prior to RMU, Banaszak served as the 30th head coach in Washington & Jefferson football history, leading the Presidents to a record of 38-9 (.809) in his four seasons on the sidelines between 1999 and 2002. In each of those four campaigns, he was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and ranks third on the college's all-time victory list. A 1975 graduate of Eastern Michigan with a bachelor's degree in health, physical education and recreation, Banaszak signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to the 1975 season and was one of only three rookies to make the defending Super Bowl champion team out of training camp. Primarily a special teams player on Pittsburgh's Super Bowl X championship team, Banaszak started five games the following season and then started at both right end and inside tackle in 1977 before suffering a knee injury that forced him to the injured reserve list. Between 1978 and 1980, Banaszak started 45 regular-season games at defensive end as the Steelers won back-to-back Super Bowl championships. In Super Bowl XIII, Banaszak recorded six tackles, including a pair of sacks, and a fumble recovery in a 35-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, which garnered him Defensive Player of the Game honors. The following year in Super Bowl XIV, Banaszak finished with five tackles and a sack in a 31-19 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.

2012 Robert Morris Football Game Notes @ Wagner (10/27/12) - Page 9 No Tickets - When RMU takes to its home field in front of a sellout crowd, good things seem to happen. The latest example came in the team’s 31-28, last-second, Homecoming victory over Lafayette, a team which was previously unbeaten and receiving votes in the national polls. That win moved RMU to 5-2 (.714) all-time when playing in front of a sold-out Joe Walton Stadium. RMU has won four consecutive home games that have been sellouts, a stretch which includes each of the last three Homecoming games. The first sellout at “The Joe” was also the first-ever game it hosted, Sept. 17, 2005. Get To The Chopper - A quick glance at RMU’s record when broken down proves how important it is the Colonials get off to a good start in contests. When Robert Morris is leading at halftime, the program owns an all-time record of 86-12 (.878). When trailing at the break, Robert Morris owns a mark of 10-64-1 (.140). Even going into halftime tied is beneficial, as the Colonials own an overall record of 12-8 (.600) in such games. The Magic Mark - Since the Colonials began play in 1994 there have been 73 games in which Robert Morris has scored 30 or more points. In those contests RMU boasts a record of 68-5 (.932), including a record of 40-5 (.889) in games in which the team scores between 30 and 39 points. In games in which the Colonials score 40 or more points, RMU is a perfect 28-0. RMU Football Historical Tidbits - The inaugural running back at Robert Morris, the late Tim Hall (1994-95), rushed for 2,908 yards in his two seasons as a Colonial. Hall still owns the FCS season and career records for yards per carry, with his season record of 8.7 yards per carry set in 1994 and his twoyear career record of 7.4 established in 1994 and 1995 ... Hall also ranks fourth all-time in the FCS in both rushing yards per game (153.1) and allpurpose yards per game (194.8) ... Former Colonial linebacker James Noel (2002-05) ranks fifth in the FCS record book for career tackles per game (10.7), while his career tackle total of 437 takedowns ranks 12th all-time ... Former linebacker and current assistant coach Alex DiMichele (2008-10) averaged 10 tackles per game over his three years in a Robert Morris uniform, which ranks 11th all-time in the FCS record book ... Robert Morris has led the nation in passing defense twice in the past 13 years. The Colonials topped the charts in both 1999, when they conceded just 80.80 yards per game through the air, and 2006, when they allowed only 88.70 yards per game via the pass. Did You Know? - Robert Morris owns the all-time FCS record for the most consecutive quarters while holding an opponent scoreless. During the 1996 season, the Colonials went 15 straight quarters without allowing a single point. In fact, the record-setting streak occurred at the beginning of the season. RMU posted three straight shutouts -- 20-0 against Mercyhurst (9/7), 38-0 against Butler (9/14) and 7-0 against Towson State (9/21) -- to open the campaign and then held Central Connecticut State (9/28) scoreless for the first three quarters before finally allowing a point for the first time all season. In all, RMU went 234:04 before allowing a point in 1996. RMU went 9-2 (.818) in 1996, claiming a share of the NEC championship, and conceded just 12.9 points per game. The Last Time a Colonial ...
