er capire come gli assets RISTA-EW (Recognisance, Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition - Electronic Warfare Brigade) operano, dobbiamo capire il significato del “fare intelligence”. “Fare intelligence” significa raccogliere informazioni e analizzarle grazie ad un ciclo o processo d’intelligence. Il ciclo intelligence è un perfetto circuito chiuso e inizia con una direzione. Un comandante può richiedere gli EEI (Elementi Essenziali di Intelligence) per avviare il processo. In risposta a questa richiesta seguirà il molto più interessante processo di raccolta e la fase di lavorazione o processing che comporta la traduzione dei dati da lingue straniere, la valutazione di rilevanza e attendibilità e la raccolta di informazioni per lo sfruttamento. o comprehend how and when RISTA-EW do what they do, we need to understand the meaning of the word “intelligence”: it means to be smart, sly, as cunning as a fox. “To do intelligence” means to gather information and analyse it thanks to the intelligence cycle or process. What exactly does intelligence process mean? The intelligence cycle is a perfectly closed loop and starts with a direction. A Commander can ask for EEI (Essential Elements of Intelligence) to start the Intelligence process. In response to this request, the much more interesting collection process will follow. The processing phase involves translation of data from foreign languages, evaluation of relevance and reliability and collation of raw intelligence for the exploitation.
