Student-Parent Handbook
Recess and Non-Scheduled Time All students in PreSchool through 5th Grade have a daily outdoor recess (weather permitting). Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for cold weather conditions, including hats, mittens, and boots. Students not wearing boots during wet or muddy weather must remain on the pavement. All students will go outside for recess unless they have a note from home. Lower School students dressed inadequately for recess will remain indoors.
The playground supervisor will use a whistle to signal students on the playground. Students should, therefore, be familiar with the recess signals:
One Whistle: Stop immediately! During recess and lunch, students are expected to Two Whistles: Stop - car approaching. stay in assigned, visible areas. All students will Three Whistles: Line up in a single line follow the direction of the playground supervisor. and be quiet. When weather permits, students may play on the soccer field and the playground. Students may not play in or near any building or near any parked cars. Students may play in the gym with permission from the playground supervisor. Students who act improperly on the playground will be reported to Director of Lower School for possible disciplinary action. Foul language, snowball throwing, tackling (including tackle football), and other forms of aggressive behavior are not authorized.

The decision concerning school closing or delay is based on accessibility to campus and is made as early as possible.
