Water your lawn and garden in the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler to minimize evaporation. Wash your fruits and vegetables in a pan of water instead of running water from the tap. Global Warming Sets Earth On Vibrator Mode HUMAN ACTIVITIES CAUSE MAJORITY OF GLOBAL WARMING. Major tsunamis in Asia in the recent past and a series of frequent medium-large scale earthquakes is just another warning. Global warming is always leading us towards: 5. Spread of disease 4. of the Japan earthquake. Global warming leads to thermal expansion and hence a rise in water level at the oceans. Melting glaciers also contribute to this. The oceanic water level has rose by 5-8 inches in last 100 years and expected to rise by 2 feet in the coming 100 years. This will simply wipe out many coastal

Watching 2012 (movie) was thrilling and fun but if we don‟t want to experience the disaster in reality then we must take actions to reduce global warming. If you are not sure what exactly to do then go back to page 1. Follow the given

After The Quake On March 11th a massive 9.0 - magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake. It has left thousands of people dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation. It is the biggest setback to the country after World War 2. However, people of Japan, yet again, have shown strong resistance in the aftereffects of this disaster. They have displayed some distinguished qualities such as: THE CALM - Not a single visual of chestbeating or wild grief. Sorrow itself has been elevated.

THE DIGNITY - Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a rough word or

THE TRAINING - The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to

a crude gesture.

do. And they did just that.

THE ABILITY - The incredible Structural engineering made sure that the buildings swayed but didn‟t fall. In addition, the buildings were designed for earthquake loads, as specified in the Japanese codes.

THE MEDIA - They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters. Only calm reportage.

THE GRACE - People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get something. THE ORDER - No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the roads. Just understanding. THE SACRIFICE - Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the Nreactors. How will they ever be repaid? THE TENDERNESS - Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left alone. The strong cared for the weak.

THE CONSCIENCE - When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves and left quietly! A road that was destroyed in the earthquake has been repaired in just six days demonstrating just how quickly the nation is trying to get back on its feet. Work began on this road on March 17 and was completed just 6 days later, repairing the enormous cracks which were left after the earthquake and tsunami on March 11. - Compiled by Shashikant Gunde

SWOT Analysis A SWOT analysis is a tool used for strategic planning that looks at the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for a project. This type of analysis can be applied to a variety of different projects, and looks at favorable, unfavorable, internal and external factors involved with achieving specific objectives. It is also an important tool for personal growth as it provides a clear summary of the opportunities and issues faced. Let‟s see how the SWOT analysis worked well with our Indian Cricket team which was selected to play in W Cup 2011! Strengths: Balanced team, Sub continental playing conditions, Home –crowd support Weaknesses: Inconsistency, Dependency on individual performers, Absence of genuine all-rounder, Brittle middle order batting

Opportunities: Spinning pitches in the sub continent, Shining stars like Virat Kohli, Inspiration called Sachin playing in his last W Cup Threats: Injuries, Players short of match practice Now that the available information is sorted in SWOT, the team is expected to capitalize on their strengths and opportunities and take corrective actions to avoid the weaknesses and threats from surfacing. If you recall, the Indian team exactly performed as per their strengths and overcame the weaknesses to win the W Cup in style. Try it yourself. You can be successful with flying colors!

WAS YOUR FEELING WHEN YOU WERE FINALIZING FOR THE

GERMANY VISIT?

Hitendra: I felt great that I got the chance to visit our Head office. I was happy! Dinesh: My visit to Germany was finalized within 2 days. It was much unexpected. No time for feelings!

Q: CAN YOU GIVE US AN INSIGHT ABOUT THE WORK ON TOUR? Hitendra: I did the same work that I do in India but I got more knowledge to share with the team members about the project. Dinesh: Our main task was to understand the current project and we had a task to do the work in a more organized way to handle our teams to prepare and implement an efficient system for CE-N India.

Q: CAN YOU SHARE SOME OF YOUR COUNTRY SIDE MEMORIES? Hitendra: In Germany we visited the mining museum which I really liked. Engineers will mostly like this museum. Children would also enjoy watching the machinery. Dinesh: We have been to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower. It was a great feeling when you are standing under the world class steel structure which is also the mode for our current projectcomplex steel structure.

Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN

THE WORKING STYLE OF

GERMANY

AND INDIA?

Hitendra: In Germany the main difference is that they work for less time but with much more efficiency. In India we work for more time but with lesser efficiency. Their output is more than ours. They always look at the bigger picture and in detail. Dinesh: The German approach towards any activity or task is very systematic. They are very organized in maintaining & using information or data. They spend more time on study than action.

Q: THINGS YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE COUNTRY-GERMANY? Hitendra: Cleanliness and dedication towards their work. Dinesh: The disciplined culture. Everybody follows every rule even if nobody is monitoring or controlling. This is applicable to every public place be it parks, metros, offices, malls or restaurants.

Q: WHAT

IS THE ONE THING THAT YOU HAVE LEARNT FROM THIS

EXPERIENCE AND WILL TREASURE?

Hitendra: The trip helped me to meet the German people in person. I am now much more confident and comfortable to interact with onsite people than I was before this trip. Dinesh: I think there are many things which I learnt from this trip, so it is difficult to pick a single one. But the trip itself is one learning experience from which I have some sweet memories.

Corruption: Your NO Will Count Do you think Dr. Anna Hazare got more attention than the Cricket World Cup winning Indian team? Yes. In fact he deserves all the attention from his nation as he is leading the fight against something which every Indian is concerned about, directly or indirectly. This 72 year old man, who has hardly any impressive looks, is one of most respected and noted socialist in India. Anna is a expert of many battles - as a former soldier and now as a social worker. He has been prominently fighting against corruption in this democratic country. His excellent efforts forced firstly the Maharashtra Government and then the whole country to pass „Right to Information‟ (RTI) act. He has respectfully and humbly returned several awards which were conferred to him by the government. In the past week, Dr. Hazare had launched an indefinite hunger strike for early enactment of „Jan Lokpal Bill‟ in Parliament. Many celebrities, politicians, important people from various fields supported Anna – Mallika Sarabhai, Arvind Kejriwal, Swami Agnivesh, Anupam Kher, Preteish Nandi, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor are a few names. Most importantly, it was the common man‟s lively support to Anna. Anna also acknowledged the huge support saying that he never expected the movement to grow so big. According to the Bill, „Lokpal‟ will be an independent body that would investigate corruption cases filed by the common man, complete the investigation within a year and envisage trial in the case getting over in the next one year. This body will be completely independent of government and no minister or bureaucrat will be able to influence the investigations carried out by the body. All

the loss that a corrupt person has caused to the government will be recovered during the conviction. For the common man, if any work is not done in prescribed time in any government office, Lokpal will impose financial penalty on guilty officers, which will be given as compensation to the complainant. A citizen can approach Lokpal if his ration card, passport or voter card is not being made or if police is not registering his case or any other work is not being done in prescribed time. The Lokpal will also provide protection for any or all the complainants. The entire functioning of the body is said to be completely transparent and any complaints against the officials in the body itself will be investigated on a fast track of two months. By the definition, „Jan Lokpal Bill‟ seems to be strong enough to control corruption in the country. It‟s power can be simply judged from the fact that this Bill has been revived in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 and most recently in 2008, every time it was referred to some committee for improvements. The corrupt ministers and bureaucrats had been successful, so far, to keep this Bill out of the parliament. Now the hunger strike by Anna and the mass activism caused thereby has left no more choices for the government. Government, on Friday night agreed to issue a formal order to set up a joint committee for drafting an effective Bill. The common man now supports Anna, once again, following the ray of hope called the „Jan Lokpal Bill‟ to fight against the darkness caused by corruption.

Birthday wishes to: Trupti Oza (5th April)& Shashikant Gunde (8th April) What Is Beauty? It is almost impossible to find out one thing or one person who is agreeably beautiful to everyone. Beauty can be defined in many ways and everyone uses own imagination to relate to this word. The dictionary defines it as: A combination of qualities that pleases the intellect or moral sense. But poets, philosophers, scientists, socialists, you and me; we all have our different ideas when asked: What is Beauty? When asked to define Beauty, my friends too had different views. Shalini feels, "Beauty is quality of being good at heart and a helping attitude. First impression is the best impression but beauty can often be found beyond the first impression. A person with a good heart is always more beautiful than a person with a good face." Arati puts it differently as, "transparency in thoughts, kindness and confidence." "When word beauty comes to my mind then I always look for person's smile. Smile can tell us what the person is thinking", says Vaishali.

My definition of „Beauty‟ is subjective. I have met people who were good-looking but not so pleasant to be with. I have also met people who were ordinary but interesting because they were wonderful and witty. I think that happiness, confidence, dignity and humor are the powerful components of beauty, along with the more traditional attributes of physical appearance, body weight and shape, and even a sense of style. Every child is beautiful for its parents; for a new-born its mother is beautiful; for a husband his wife is beautiful and for a blind person even simple words can mean beauty. That is okay, as that is usually the way it is. Your life will determine what you find beautiful and there really is no wrong answer. The important thing is that you don't treat people badly who do not fit into your definition of beauty. -Swati Gangdhar

Your boss and you – Your boss might be an understanding and approachable person who gives you enough opportunities to apply your thoughts to projects and take chances. However, when things go wrong, while it is brave to stand up and admit that you goofed up, it is not alright to remain clueless over the next course of action. Always have an alternative plan in place; show initiative by countering downfalls with damage control ideas.

However, it is important to realise and define boundaries of topics that can be discussed without issues amongst your peers and superiors and also what is best left out. Learn Beyond Cricket Cricket, in our country, is higher than any religion. Uniting 1.21 billion people, it also gives us all a larger than life game, something to learn from, something to hope for and something to live. Doesn‟t matter what has happened to you. It‟s what you do about it that counts. A prince, Oxford graduate, a terrific cricketer, having lost his eye in tragic accident, Nawab Pataudi fought back with all his might. Tiger went on playing for India, became the youngest captain. NEXT TIME ADVERSITY STRIKES, JUST BE A TIGER! Not many have heard about Hokaito Zhimomi! The first cricketer from Nagaland. He‟s probably the best cricketer his homeland has produced. Fans idolize him for becoming the first one to have joined IPL for KKR. He might not have played for team India but is not everyone becomes a lead, or an CEO. So run your own race. DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS. DOING WELL IN CLASS IS IMPORTANT. BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO COME FIRST ALWAYS. Remember the time during tough matches, when team needs a push from middle order, Yusuf Pathan proved to be the right choice. Seem to be a changed man now; he makes winning games from seemingly hopeless situations. Revealing the secret, he refers about staying back at practice for mere 30 minutes with the coach, even after everyone else has left. JUST AN EXTRA 30 MINUTES GIVES YOU UNDIVIDED ATTENTION OF

THE COACH.

That's all it takes.

Who hasn‟t heard of the God of Cricket! Sachin Tendulkar! Playing for 20 years now, there have been many ups and downs when fans faith was shacking. He still became the one with an outstanding consistent performance, an unbeatable 200, that too without a runner. What new record he hasn‟t set! BE IT ANY SUCCESS OR TIMES OF NOT-THAT-GOOD-A-LUCK, NEVER LOSE YOUR TEMPER AND FOCUS ON YOUR GOAL. That‟s what will keep one up all the time. This case doesn‟t belong to any player. For such a vast nation, it‟s not possible for every cricket lover to be in top 11. But doesn‟t look to have bothered people like Charu Sharma, Harsha Bhogle. To first degree cricket, they have bestowed the fellow aspirants all a new direction to success. MAKES US BELIEVE ON THEIR ACHIEVEMENT. Last but not the least, it shows us the power of determination, that leaves nothing impossible and importance of team work. Recall the time when Bhajji slapped Sreesanth during IPL. Such a bitter memory that is, still like best pals, they moved on.
